It's been so long I've moved on to other things.

Still, I'll get it some time.

Me too, but Sid's review does make it tempting still

Funny my copy of The Great War has  "by Mike Rearden" in big letters  then underneath in small letters it's "with Alex Buchel and Rob Broom"
Still nice to see this finally get released, even though I sold my WW1 collection I still use these rules for WW2, modified of course.

It is a really good book. Lots of pics, army lists (though belgians are missing), new rules. It's even 6 pages bigger than the rule book.

Got my copy and have started going through.

Is a good read and as usual well presented.  They include an ANZAC list with the British list which was a very welcome suprise.  My New Zealand Mounted Rifles can finally be finished.

A Canadian list is also with the British list too.

My only criticism is the foreword of the book is signed off in February 2009- why so long?

How long until we get the next supplement for the Eastern Front?

My copy arrived today, via my shed (where the postie left it).  I've had a quick glance through it and I'm impressed.  A nice selection of army lists including Canadian and Anzac forces for the British, Foreign Legion for the French combined with detail about key battles has made this expansion a winner as far as I'm concerned.  However I looked at the back and it just advertised other Warhammer Historical products, so I don't see any further expansions coming our way.

Read most of it now and it is a good book with some nice expansions into grey areas such as small scale trench raids and heavy artillery/ types of barrages. Good to see a little on the Anzacs. Credit to them for releasing this and I think many people out there should give it a second look. If they release a supplement for Gallipoli/ Palestine then so be it. I will buy it. But if not then I reckon they have enough with these two publications to satisfy most gamers.

I'm still waiting for mine. I hope it would be as good as it seems. I'm really interested in the big battle system. Perhaps for little skimishes there were more interesting rules, such as Through the mud and the blood, but the one from WH seems to be the right one for bigger battles. We will see...

Received the books yesterday. The production quality is very good, and the books smell like the old warhammer/mordheim books which is just great!

Make the most of the book and the Warhammer Historical sale - the word is, 'corporate re-thinking' at GW equals 'bye-bye' Historical!

My favourite visit to WW so far - 'can i order any of the Historical titles whilst I'm here today?' 'Don't think so, although I walk past a stack of them in the warehouse every day, I'll check' (phones Forgeworld office) 'No, you can only order them from the website or by 'phone' "Why? I'm here today, got the money, only want 3 books' "Would you like to speak to them yourself?' 'Yes' (phone usage) - long story short, yes, some books are in the GW warehouse but you cannot get them from Warhammer World shop, you have to order them separately - 'so, I could now call you on my mobile, order these books whilst standing about two hundred metres from your warehouse but then have to wait for them to arrive in the post?' 'Yes' 'Oh, bye then, I'll get someone else's rules BECAUSE YOU ARE CLEARLY INSANE!'

And the downward spiral at GW goes on - can the Hobbit licence save them?

You wouldn't be able to tell me how big a table one requires for these trench raid games?  I just don't want to have to carve up anymore insulation foam then I need to...
