Hey!

Does anyone have some side-by-side pictures comparing the warlord phalangites with the one from victrix? I can only find comparisons of their hoplites, but I got a box of the warlord ones and would like to know, if it is possible to add some of the victrix models to them... thanks in advance!

I forget which thread I posted a real side by side, but if you click the link here, the first post in my thread about my project has a mix of Warlord and Victrix phalangites and it's hard to distinguish between them. They're basically the same size, unlike the Warlord hoplites which are like a different species  :D

A bit late in the day but here are some Republican Roman comparisons:

The rest are on my blog here: click

I use Magister ( Navigator as was) kneeling Triari with my mainly Foundry army and they fit in very nicely. I love the sense of movement in 1st Corps figures. Most of the older metal ranges look short next to Victrix but I find that less jarring than the stylistic difference.

Lucid Eye Sea Peoples - I have some - any other Sea Peoples close in size?  I was wondering about NS Kadesh as they are done by the same Steve S.

Could anyone do a comparison of all or any combination of Xyston, Museum's Z-range, Blue Moon ancients/medievals, and the ancients and/or the dark ages Forged in Battle, please?

I hear Xyston and Blue Moon are supposed to be quite large but also vary in size between ranges. Unfortunately pictures of Blue Moon in the wild are rare. Forged in Battle also have a little bit of scale creep between the ancients and dark ages ranges but it's not too bad, certainly less noticeable than putting an Essex chap next to one of them.

Edit: I'm incredibly daft and missed the pic in the OP! I blame poor rolling on a perception check. In penance here's a pic of two Forged in Battle Dark Age Sudanese Ghulam spearmen compared to two Museum Arabs. The Museum Arabs are not Z-range but the civilian lad on the end is noticeably bigger than his sword wielding pal. He might be from one of the later Islamic ranges (Renaissance Ottomans?) which also feature very large cavalry.

Is anyone able to do a size comparison between 15mm forged in battle and Essex mid-republican romans, as I want to mix the two due to FiB selling the figures only in packs of 24. Specifically triari, Principes, Hastati and Velites. Much appreciated

To answer my own question, yes Essex Romans fit in perfectly with the FiB Republican Romans on the same base.

Anyone know how the other Warlord Romans compare?

Are the only "small" ones, the first release? The Early Imperial Roman release? Are all others larger? Example, are the Praetorian plastics larger figures?

How do the cavalry compare with the foot figures?

(I am looking for smaller figures...)

The Warlord Early Imperial Roman Legionaries, Veterans and Praetorians all use the same basic figures with different extra cparts.  The metal Marines are slightly larger and the plastic Auxiliaries much larger.  The metal auxiliary and Praetorian cavalry, western and eastern archers and the slingers are a pretty good match for the legionaries.
