Interesting to see your water has ripples as mine where smooth.


I've just downsized to a fixed size 9 x 9 board for One Hour Wargames and Portable Wargames and put the rest on eBay.  Just cannot cope with big boards now :-)

yeah, love the heroquest hexes look.

tried to get into it a few yrs back, but was too rich for my blood, even tho' full boxes were still available from shops at that point ... anyhow, you're getting great results there, even if it is a '7rys later' story  ;)

For the water I sponge painted them to bring some details to the surface, but keeping the "synthetic" blue color wich matches better the whole set in my opinion.

THen, with acrylic gloss medium I added ripples on the surface of the hexes.
