I have some new wall sections. Actually I have a completely different way of making the wall sections, thanks to my wife.

When I showed my lovely wife the first wall section she said it looks nice, but what was the shelf for. Then I showed the piece to a friend, who also asked what the shelf was for. He went further on to ask if I was going to find scale vases to put on the shelf.  Both my wife and my friend weren't even trying to be funny when they said it. At that point I knew I had a serious design problem. It was also at that point that I discovered I'd put the struts in the wrong spots if I wanted to repeat the pattern on additional wall sections. So I spent time redesigning the general shape and layout of the walls, and here's what I got...

Front side, also known as the corridor walls.

Back side, also known as the interior.

And here is a WIP shot of all the walls I'm working on right now. The second long wall is mostly done. I just have to finish the back side and add some small details to the front. I've only just started the basic structures for the two corner pieces. Once those are done it'll be time to start making doors and a large floor piece for everything to sit on.

Sorry Commander. In the time it would take me to learn how to cast these pieces I can have many, many more built.

Excellent work; though now I'm wondering why they don't need shelves in the future ...

Beautifully done! :-*

I'm always envious of people with plasticard skills - I'm terrible at working with it.

I was going to go down this route, but am now saving up for Fenris Games tiles, as he has walls on the way as well.

Great job! I like the 'wall MK1' better than the original.

What about contacting Fenris Games?

They are going to release their own set of sci-fi walls, but perhaps they may be interested in purchasing these from you and cast them up. Worth a try, in my opinion.

Thank you for all the great comments. I'm having a ton of fun with this project. I finished painting the replacement first wall last night.

Corridor side

Interior side

And a shot from the end.

I'd have to not paint one of the walls if I wanted to get it cast, and I don't want to do that. I'm a 'strike while the iron's hot' kind of guy. If I wait too long to paint the pieces, this project will sit in a box and never get done. That's what happened to my plasticard Enterprise bridge, and my wife is still giving me grief over that.

Besides, I've seen the work Fenris does, and I ain't in that category. That stuff is amazing.

Would have suited Anisty's range much more as very similar construction. Great shame, and lovely pj btw.

Both the construction and painting on the walls is top notch.  The redesign is a big improvement too, much more visually interesting.

Fantastic work on a fantastic project (that most of us have a version of sitting unfinished in a box somewhere...).

I agree on getting those cast! Design them on the Ainsty 3cm grid and they would fit perfectly with the existing floors! Have a word with Andy :)
