Please forgive the double post:
 :D

But, I posted a tutorial on my blog:
It's the first part of a basic tutorial for an Oldhammer Chaos Thug.

After:

Hopefully someone might find some aspect of it useful.

Thanks for the tutorial Aggro, I tried the red check wash on my Western fig's - to intermittent success. Cool to see how you use thinner paints/washes. My GW based technique of: black primer, thick basecoat, Washes, base colour, highlight, drybrush is a bit 'thick' and patchy. Gotta try that wet palette. Cheers!

Matt.

Nice work, D!
It seems we do paint in a similar fashion after all.
You could probably be describing the way that I paint (although I have been known to do several layers of thinned washes...)
Best technique around for a quick and easy result.

I am glad you found my modest efforts of some interest.
I will try to have part 2 up by the end of the day Pacific Time.

The Thug Honcho looks TERRIFIC for the attention you lavished on him...EXCELLENT brush technique.

Your tutorial was informative & well written to the point it keep my attention...normally rules & tutorials put moi to sleep. VERY WELL DONE!

Lovely Thug you got there man. Love the last entry too from earlier in december. Those Chaos Warrior/thug types are stunning. Love the skellie with the bandaged head. Is it an old citadel one? Gonna have to try and grab him for my skellies at some point.  :D

Hi Aggro,
very nice tutorial!

I happen to use quite the same technique if less steps and not quite the results. But good to see that I am not the only one with the opinion that not every step in figure painting has to be done in expensive colors.

Keep them coming, your figures look great!

Cheers

Those are some of my favorites from you! Love the expressions. There's no doubt violence is a way a life for these dudes and they're not complaining.
