As it stands now, I'll be planning on making the rules available for free...though to be honest, without the cards they're not quite useful.

I will sell all the assembled cards (characters, specials decks per faction, weapon deck etc.) as a lump set on Gamecrafter for whatever reasonable price I can manage.  I'm debating trying to get a small loan from family or friends (or my credit card!) to buy a bulk set, so I can reduce the cost.

So, you could download the rules for free, and check em out.  If you're interested you could buy the cards.  Unfortunately though the cards really ARE the game.  I'd likely also buy several copies and sell them at conventions etc.

The other option would be to assemble all of the card images in an additional PDF and sell the PDF for a very small sum (a couple bucks)...allowing players to print their own cards, etc.  Not really sure just yet how it'll all work out.

Update:

I'll be attending (and hopefully hosting!) Spring Fever up in Raleigh NC from March 8-10th (hosting hopefully on 8th and 9th at some point).

I've just ordered a batch of the Version 2 cards (with new characters, weapons, and modifications to character types etc.).  Hope it all works out well.  Need to knock out some terrain and a few spare models in the next few weeks before the con.

I'm also planning on trying to attend GnomeCon in Savannah, GA sometime in April.  No definite plans for that just yet.  So, if anyone is going to these cons, look me up.  Heck, bring some cowboy minis if you want - I'll let you use them!

 lol

I've been madly cranking away at terrain lately - with a couple of cons coming up.

A small cattle corral...

Some scrappy bits...turned into a water tower.

(waiting for a proper coned top at some point)

Painted up the GF9 ponds with some grass, dry-brushing and pond-scum.

Converted over some GF9 rivers into more appropriate monsoon/mud-slide rivers.

Some cactii in the making.

Some Perry cavalry I had hacked up into cowboys real quick for a game a while back - decided to put some paint on them.  Not the best conversions (I don't even know how to use green stuff!) but as mounted stand in's they'll work.  Will be finished by tonight.

Nice, especially the waterpower. Where did you get the fence for the corral?

Renedra "plank fencing".  Like the other Renedra fencing, not my favorite stuff - but very cheap $4 per batch of eight sections - so $4 for the amount used on the corral (two sprues-worth).

Avilable from Architects of War stateside, or Renedra themselves abroad.

Tossed a link to a blog I setup.  When I start selling the game (Gamecrafter or otherwise) I'll be posting FAQ's etc.

It's below in my sig.  Time to start updating it.

Finished my mounted figures (needed some additional ones for the con next weekend)

Also tossed together some prototype dice from Gamecrafter.  The indented dice with custom stickers - created a scatter dice, and two random test dice.  This is for randomly determining the difficulty of a test, OR using the dice to mark an adjusted attribute - it can be placed over the attribute on a character's card.  The Gamecrafter version will ship with six dice, and stickers to match --- also a large amount of additional stickers which can be used on the provided blank character cards (allowing players to create their own characters for scenarios, or fun).

Packed up, going to grab a quick nap - then headed to Spring Fever, hosted by the Triangle Simulation Society in Raleigh, NC.  If anyone is heading there, I'll be trying to host a game or two both Friday and Saturday evenings.  Cheers!

I'm very interested in the rules, definitely let us know when they are up on Gamecrafter, As a side note, Gamecraft Miniatures has a nice deal on fencing 100 inches for $19.30. I have some and it looks good.

Roger that guys.  Just got back - the rules/cards are pretty close to being done.  I have to type up the rules PDF, but the cards are 95% done.  I'm going to revamp a few cards, add a couple more etc.  Will post pics/reports on the convention in a bit.

Spring Fever - Raleigh, NC

Well, I'm ashamed to say that once again I failed to take nearly enough photographs.  I saw a lot of folks taking pictures, so if I stumble across some, I'll post them up.

Friday
Friday I arrived early, and it was pretty slim pickins for most of the afternoon.  I only ended up running one game when everyone started arriving in the evening.  I ran the same scenario I've been running (Lawmen attempting to hang a criminal while his gang seeks to free him).

A view of the town...

Main street...pre-carnage.

The Outlaws had a hell of a time this game.  It was the most lopsided game I've seen yet (one of the perks of the SnS system!).  Right at the outset, one of their best models, the Trailboss has a stroke of conscience and quit the gang...not before shooting one of his companions in the head and riding off.  The remaining Outlaws were gunned down, while the town continued to hamper them.  One wounded Outlaw was handcuffed by some angry citizens, etc.  The only chance the Outlaws had was a disguised Thief.  He managed to get to the soon-to-be-hanged fellow...but revealed himself when he shot at one of the Lawmen.  He died in a hail of gunfire.

The Outlaws called it quits as every single dice roll, and card drawn turned against them.

The Thief reveals himself, and bites off more than he can chew.

Saturday
Saturday I ran an alternate game - a four-way fight.  One small band of Lawmen had to escort a "wanted" man out of town, while three other gangs sought to abduct him.  The game went well, and while it started slow (the Lawmen were lucky enough to hear a distant train, and began retreating toward the train platform, everyone else giving chase).  Toward the end, everything came to a head, with massed casualties.

This time a Thief stole a horse and went running through town as fast as possible, hoping to surprise the fleeing Lawmen

Enemies were appearing out of every corner, bush, and saloon

The lawmen make a fighting withdrawal

At the end of the game, all four gangs/posses engaged in a up-close brutal gunfight, resulting in the death of the sought man.

There was a rather large amount of mayhem toward the end of the game.  Overall, pretty fun.  It was the first four-way game I'd played, so it gave me a lot of feedback of how to adjust to it etc.  There were no major issues though, which is a plus.  Had to create a few rules on the fly.

I had planned to run 2-3 games each night, but the small crowd, and my own exhaustion meant I only ran the two.
