Hi!

It's great to see that Warzone is making a comeback! It is my favourite system and Paul Bonners artwork really set the tone so its good to see that it's been used as the basis for the digital sculpts!

The undead legionnaires are looking good but lack a little of Bonners stylisation around the faces at the mo which is a bit of a shame as his work on Warzone tended to be somewhat stylised and exaggerated which would be great to see in he final sculpts too. It would have been nice to get traditional sculpts instead of cg but that's just my preference!

Best if luck!

Nice.

Mostly just bookmarking this thread in hopes of seeing more stuff like the one above as I've never been a big fan of Warzone. The U version had good rules but the setting and on the whole the aesthetic never appealed to me accross the board. That said, I have a reasonable number of miniatures from the line, including but not limited to at least two sets of the famous "80 troopers in a plastic bag, one each for Bauhaus and Imperial". So it'll be a bit of shame if the new minis will be much bigger than the old ones :?

Ohh this is so cool.

Unfortunately very high hopes from me and thats make this venture hard to satisfy the high hopes.
What Im trying to write is that it can be a very nice project but can it could have problem trying to satisfy all nostalgia of people remembering things to be better than they actually were.

The Cyrasiers sketches looks very promising and a new modern style but still showing homage to the old. A more up to date version of an old concept.

Best of luck on this.

I get you Engel.

It's all about making sure the nostalgia is kept in mind, but also the way modern Sci-Fi wargaming has gone. Of course, that's not to say it has to be like every other Sci-Fi game!

I'm just the messenger! :)

Regarding rules: We have developed a new system based on the old, our aim is to be novel, innovative and really excite the tabletop gamer with our models and game.

IMO 1st edition Warzone were a real pile of gold as far as the rules are concerned.
Alternate activations, action based etc
Still up todate!

I used similar ideas for my Victory Decision system with good reason.
Please keep this spirit alive...

Fantastic Razide! This will be super. I read somewhere the game system will be somewhat similar to Warmachine. On one hand not too shabby, as IMO it's the best rules system there is...but on the other hand not necessary IMO. The normal system worked fine. Maybe downtune it to D10 (D20 is only great for skirmish games and roleplay with many modifiers IMO). But in general the system itself was good.

Balance is something I may be more interested in. First edition was not really balanced, especially with all the equipment. Pick a shooty character with Nimrod Autocannon, add Helmet for +1 action, add a medic unit and the result was insane.
Second edition was better, but the balance between shooting and close combat was screwed. UWX really was a good step forwards, but the book wasn’t very well designed. The game was great though, although the Dark Eden forces were on the weak side IIRC

So far I'm pretty pleased with the Cybertronic concepts <3 I just hope you'll keep the good ole 'great war' look Imperial and Bauhaus had ;)

Well, that would be close to a WARMAHorde Warcaster then, wouldn't it? :P

Agreed on the Razide, what there is of it looks good. Might want to get a couple even if they are Chaos Dark Symmetry thingies, they work well for generic big alien bruiser types in other games.

Is that torso sculpted in the traditional way or 3D printed?

Its CAD designed and then a LOW-res print. We will be moving to High res when we are sure it fits well together!
