Sedition War and Antenocitis Komodo- 2013-12-07 update
« on: March 09, 2013, 04:39:25 PM »

I pledged last year on the Sedition Wars KS.

Some weeks ago the 1st batch arrived and - to be honest - I was deeply disappointed by the quality of the minis. The PVC was appalling and huge mold lines were visible all over. But since I am not a guy who easily gives up I scratched, reshaped and primed the minis. AND - after a good coat of white priming the minis was even easier to handle, the mold lines became more visible and I was able to get a decent finish.

The above mini in the centre is a female Sedition War trooper (more or less out of the box, different base and head swap) flanked by some Infinity Star Wars conversions. The goal was to create some Old Republic or New Republic trooper, worked for me.

It's a pity that I'm hearing so much bad stuff about the Sedition Wars stuff. Still you did pull of a good paint job on this one, I hope the others turn out to be easier/better.

Pretty cool Republic trooper just the same.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Very nice work on the sedition mini.

Glad to see a good result is possible.
I also noticed how a coat of primer brought the flash out and thus easier to remove.
The sheer amount of work that will go into the vanguard made me put this temporarily on hold, however, since I played my first game last week I'm tempted to give it another go.
I aim to have the figures cleaned and primed so I can start gaming with 'em and start actual painting thereafter. (last week we used a friend's box, who just glued them, so no paint)

Congratulations on sorting those minis out! I have had similar issues with Mantic's dreadball...

The paintjobs are lovely, fantastic work as ever!

Only the helmet visor is painted in a different style to create a “Clone Trooper” look.

The pose conversions you're doing look really good. I wish there were more variation in the figures! :(

True, some more poses would be great, but at least the plastic is easy to work with!

And more...

One more trooper out of the box. No modifications this time!

Four troopers and a slightly modified Infinity PanO “Jedi”.
