VSF superhero development
« on: March 11, 2013, 08:20:31 PM »
A wee bit later than planned, but here's the first sketches.

Top half: a fairly straightforward port of a familiar fellow, with some spanish-californian swordsman flourishes.  A few different options there.

Bottom half: he's a wee bit redundant - I should've kept up with communications - but here he is anyway.  A more Spring-Heeled Jack type character: a nutty inventor and his prototype rocket pack that allows him to leap to fantastic heights.  Complete with capelike foldaway wings stabilizers, galvanoculars which spark a startlingly bright blue, and his peculiar white oilskin overalls.

Okay... the image is embedded and I can see it trying to load, but then it disappears.  Is it showing up for everyone else?

Works fine for me.

I like it. If I were doing this, I'd say top guy with the bottom guy's jacket. The double breast would look good under that coat. Also needs a grappling pistol :)

There was a good one in Warehouse 13 used by the HG Wells character.... hang on.... here you go:

So many projects..... so little time.......

I can see it fine and could earlier too.  Nice concepts but I consider the project private and will not impose with my opinions.

I can see it just fine as well... Or at least I think I can :P

Anyway. Both are very nice concepts but as per I said in the other thread, I'm partial to the "Sping-heeled Jack" one and would still prefer him to be exchangeable as either SJ or NotBatman. So I would ditch the rocket (SJ doesn't need to have one and while NB certainly could use one he doesn't necessarily need it either) and make his ears longer so they could be thought of as demonic horns as well as bat ears (this kinda thing has been done in some Batman stories, I was thinking of the Elseworlds album Holy Terror but that wasn't one of those after all). Also I would like to see him sporting ninja hand claws as SJ was sometimes said to have steel claws. Breathing fire is a bit problematic without making an entire separate demon head but I suppose it could be just thought of as another ninja style gimmick and doesn't need to presented, it was not as if SJ was breathing fire constantly.

Second sketch, according to instruction.  Sorry guys, I did say the Spring-Heeled Jack stuff was redundant for now.

Also, proportions are a bit off in this (the head looked a lot smaller when I was sketching the stickman pose) but should show the basic idea.
Doing this 'professionally' is a lot more nerve-wracking. ::)

Dewbakuk: I did consider a grappling pistol.  Honest I did. :)  We'll see what Those Who Sit Above In Shadow say about it.

Does this link work?

Looks great. Is this figure going to be made available after it's cast for sale or is it only for the primary backers?
