Been waiting for this for awhile also.
I hope the rules are as fab as that artwork!!!
Everytime a new rules set comes out, I get this feeling like I am about to find the holy grail.
I pray to the gods of rules-makers, let this one be the rules of all rules.

I know it sounds naive, BUT... I really do hope this is the one that meets all my expectations and a couple of unexpected ones too!

Speaking of holy grails
Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals

Will a pdf also be available as an addition?

Was wondering the same thing myself...

 :o that looks good!

I've got Frostgrave coming in July. Do I really need another set of fantasy rules a month later?

Damn right I do!!  ;D

Definitively old D&D feeling.

Can we get some highlight of the game mechanisms ?
Is it suitable for Dungeon Crawling ?

That retro look was certainly what I was after - so glad you approve.

I'm really pleased with it - although don't know if I can take the pressure of it being the 'holy grail' that Mars Miniatures is after :)

At its heart it's still a skirmish game, so suitable for any environment. No specific dungeon generation rules in the core book (but expect that to follow in supplements), but there is plenty of that flavour in the mechanics and campaign scenarios included. For example, you have spell, magic items and an adventure deck - the latter being used to generate wandering monsters, traps, treasure and random events.

It uses the same action:engine mechanics as all the other Crooked Dice products - with adjustments for genre. There are lots of AAR of our games out there - most closest would be 7th Voyage. Check out the Otherworld forum too as Wayne has been giving snippets of rules and mechanics there.

I think it will be available in PDF too, but I'm checking with Richard and Wayne for you.

Hope that helps!

Any chance we can get some sneak peeks of the interior art and maybe a sample warband?

The 80's D&D vibe is great, but I'd like to know more about the system.

I've been taking a look to Otherworld forums. What I've read so far (easy to learn and fast to play skirmish Fantasy game) sounds like Song of Blades and Heroes and many other games, apart form the fate points which can activate some special actions (if I've understood correctly).

What does this system have that makes it special and set it apart from the rest?

Are you familiar with 7TV or any of the Crooked Dice games?  Karl from CD is the author of OS and it uses the same basic system.  I'm not familiar with SoBH, so I dont know if they are similar.  But the CD games are fantastic!

Just ordered it. Super excited for it to arrive! Between this and Frostgrave, 2015 looks to be a banner year for fantasy skirmish. Thank you all!

I'm afraid I'm not. Could you point me to a good review? Or game play video?

Or even better, according to you which are the system strong points and weaknesses?

Thanks in advance.

You can download their Dr Who rules for free which uses basically the same engine. You can decide for yourself then if it's for you.
