No. 183 Sir Henry Guildford - Captain of the Yeomen of the Guard 1513.

Sticking with the early renaissance feel.

Holy crap! The pattern on that tunic is ridiculous!
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

Who makes those renaissance minis, btw..?

Not that I need more minis atm, but they would fit nicely in my PSZ project  ::)

Essentially I just rub the matt black enamel base coat off with 0000 wire wool before I do any other painting, it's tends to get messy.
It's more about how you do it than what you do. Wrapping the wool round different things like cocktail sticks or paintbrush handles lets you get into nooks and crannies and also allows harder pressure to be put on the wire wool.
Be careful not to wear away any detail especially around helmets, you can take a nose off as quick as a cuckold Apache if your not paying attention  ;)
Ink washes over the bare metal can give some good effects as well, blue tends to make armour look clean while brown makes it look dirty.

So actually, you're not painting at all - you're UNpainting!
GENIUS  lol
