Just put 2 and 2 together that A.I makes those Black Ops 'not-Space Marines'. (which are simultaneously very silly and uber-cool) Always thought if I played 40K, that's exactly how I'd want my army to look. Glad I can support them in this.

Never liked the Black Ops guys (too 'Space Marines' for my tastes), but these troopers look way better, specially the Republic ones, with their exoskeletons.

Yes, clanky, clunky power-armor doesn't jive with 'black ops/deep recon' teams, IMO. But I really like their weapons and poses. If they'd been SM Scouts, I'd have been all over them.  For me, except for Inquisitor stuff, the whole 40K is just too silly.

My hope is they've translated the Deep Ops approach/dynamic to these generic human troop types.

Had I realised this is what they were part of I wouldn't have posted a new thread!  ;D

Really nice looking miniatures.

What these represent then, is a prime example of why kick starters should show good greens/masters or decent renders. I looked at their KS and thought most of the stuff on show was far to toy-like in proportion, concept and detail in a sort of Hasbro way.

These are nothing like that at all. Had I seen these I would have been a backer.  :D

Agree totally, renders are cool and all. But having a few sold copys really makes or breaks it.

But wasn't that the point of the Kickstarter? To raise the money to get these things sculpted? If they need the money to get them sculpted then they can't show the sculpts can they?

I know they had the basic renders but I read somewhere (probably posted earlier in this thread) a statement from them saying that was just for the components like guns and armour. They didn't represent the final poses. Looks like that's what they've done, they've printed the 'dolly', had it resin cast and then Andrew has broken them into the armour components and created proper poses and sculpts.
So many projects..... so little time.......

and we had a good idea if what they could produce rather than them being simply digital.

Really looking forward to these dropping through the post

Not sure I can agree with you there Vyper.

Their stuff isn't bad, but looking through their website you can't really there are really amazing standout pieces in there.

Their main miniature lines are the Exo-lords (not spacemarines) and the ARC (terminator like troopers). Neither are poor, but to me the concepts need refinement as are too clunky, more clunky than space marines even. What I have bought from them are the odd bits and pieces at shows like their bionic arms etc. They are not a bad company at all, but as I say, for the kickstarter all I saw was this:

To me, whilst I like elements of the suits and the miniature, I felt it still followed the style of their previous stuff.

I'm not suggesting that they should have a line of sculpts ready to show, but just one would have made the difference to me, as the miniatures in the flesh are such an improvement over their other stuff in my eyes.
