Quite, and not just UK consumer law applies, Prodos could be breaking the limited company rules. Hard to tell as their due accounts haven't been delivered yet. Their accounts from last year don't look too bright if this is correct information: https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/prodos

e2a: I've heard rumours that the UK office closes on Monday 9th, the UK limited company will be closed and a new Polish limited company will fly the Prodos banner - anyone else heard similar?

Let's see... This is a post from Jarek Ever (Prodos' boss/owner/whatever) from the AvP Facebook page, from about two or three weeks ago:

Thanks lads, we are on a buiness trip to UK so Friday update may be postpone to Saturday , however the good news is that we have came to conclusion that the only one way to speed things up is to have everything in one place. Prodos is actually 4 companies scattered around the globe and by consolidation in one place we will fix many many issues with communication and organization. It will mean that we will have to loose some good people's and replace them with new comers at New HQ. As for selling the company, New won't-be a owner was not interested in fulfilment of the KS thus it's no go at this stage, we will we what tomorrow's brings as we may just agree to provide services for them, this way our small company will get really serious work. This will mean for you that the shipping will be moving much much faster.

Apparently, the UK branch would be closed once Rob Alderman officially leaves Prodos. Which I guess takes effect tomorrow.

Well now I'm more interested in knowing who the prospective buyer was, so I can know which company in the hobby industry was meaning to buy another company without fulfilling its Kickstarters. Had the sale gone ahead, any bad will in the hobby community toward the new owner would, IMO, have been reasonably well deserved.

That is, unless the prospective buyer was insisting that Prodos fulfils its own Kickstarters before the sale could go ahead.

Mantic was named previously, right?

I don't think that it was anything more than speculation.

I think the part I highlighted blue is likely the case, and frankly I would be surprised if any potential buyer who saw the shit show this KS has turned into would want to accept the burden of trying to unscrew it.   It would start them out in the hole and make them responsible to an already pissed off group of customers.

In fairness, English isn't his first language, he's Polish I believe.

Ah. ;)

From speaking to them at Derby show, I got the impression there was only about 3 UK staff (one of which was an accountant), the main body of the company was Polish and in Poland (despite what certain politicians might lead you to believe).

Got my Powerloader and my Alien Warriors in.

Did they ever mention why the Alien Warriors were put on 30mm bases? According to the rules they are to be 40mm but even the stats card in the box mentions 30mm base for Warriors...
