Valiant has a lot of the old Clan War minis and are expanding that list. While there are a lot of mythical or L5R specific, a lot of them also work as more generic.

While there is only one samurai, Bombshell Miniatures has Tetsu Ko who is a very well done samurai that is one of the few that are actually decently armored for a female character in the first place, and not in a pinup pose either. Sure, some people might not like the full samurai armor for such a character, but it is still a very nice mini

I personally prefer it. Not a fan of all the tits an ass female miniatures that seem to be popular.

Thanks for the heads-up. While fully-dressed women do seem much more plausible, Tetsu Ko's armour doesn't quite look historical.

That being said, I also found this figure, whose Chinese name doesn't quite fit her supposedly Mongol ethnicity, but which might, nevertheless, work as a Jurchen or Qing Dynasty character:

The armour doesn't look at all historical but I didn't really expect it to be.

While not directly historical, it does fit the "heroic history" style that I've tended to use for historical based games. Samurai and other types as well where I kind of go for what you might see in a movie of it that was taken seriously.

I'd bought Tetsu Ko as the leader for my Ronin buntai of female Bushi...and that was a pain getting 6 decent female samurai, and even then I ended up with a kensei mini that doesn't quite match the rest of them.

Carlos-

I stole the initial legwork you did on this, to expand upon it and add in fantasy samurai offerings as well. Just wanted to say thanks for collecting the first batch of it, and share my collection, incase you or anyone else is interested.

Showcase: Samurai and Japanese Fantasy

Next up I'll try and add 15mm to it.  :)

You are very welcome mate I like your additions and I am sure they will be very useful. Would you mind me stealing some of your additions to add to the original page?

Not really accurate with the options currently available, but Hero Forge does have several options for samurai and civilians that you can use to custom make minis

Hmm, not too far off considering the difference in the size of integral bases. Thanks for that Carlos!

AW Miniatures has a great range of 16th century Samurai including some civilians and nice support troops.
