UPDATE! A light in the darkness...Yeah, finally an update again. This time it's street lights for my city. I wanted street lights for a long time, but never found a good fitting solution. I wanted something futuristic, but still oldskool. But then I got my hands on a huge load of Deadzone terrain...and it included a lot of street lights! The design itself fitted my idea well, but unfortunately they were meant to be attached to Deadzone scenery and not as standalone lamps. So I needed to add some bulk to the bottom part. The Deadzone stuff also came with weird triangular containers...not too pretty as containers IMO...but perfect to be added to the lamps! The containers come in pairs, so I cut them in the middle and glued one container to each street light. I then glued the street lights to a 30mm washer. Done! Just like I wanted them to be. Then a paintjob and here we have 10 painted street lights:

The painting was simple, but effective and fun to do:
1. Primed them grey;
2. Airbrushed them entirely with VMA Duck Egg Green
3. Washed them with P3 Armour Wash + Green pigment + Modelmates Track Dirt (the effect of this was hardly visible though...);
4. Dunked Modelmates Track Dirt all over the street lights. Really, cover them from bottom to top;
5. Took an old damp cloth and just wiped off most of the Track Dirt...leaving a grimey blackish residue. Perfect for dirty old lamps;
6. Took a piece of blister foam and Citadel Vermin Fur and applied the rust all over the place...but mostly on the lower areas;
7. Airbrushed the lamps white...then yellow (yellow doesn't cover over ANYTHING but white) and then white again for the centre of the lamps;
8. Applied Modelmates Yellow Rust and Rust to the washers;
9. Drybrushed the edges of the washers with Citadel Chainmail.
Done!
Easy to do and the effect works well. The Modelmates Track Dirt is a *fantastic* weathering liquid. Easy and quick results which look great.
City setupYesterday my mates Ronald (roon) and Jan (Jase) came over to play some games. I took all of my painted Cyberpunk scenery and placed them on my 10mm Dropzone Commander board (unfortunately not on my Gears & Games Battle Boards...Grrrrrrr...TERRIBLE Kickstarter...) giving me this look:

I am liking where it is going...but I need more buildings! And more clutter like garbage bins and such. But it's getting there...
