All here safely . Washington this morning and Gettysburg for the rest of the day. Officially retired at 19:00 EST in the Dobbin House Restaurant on Steinwehr Avenue. G is absolutely stunning, a must for every ACW player. Off to Harpers Ferry in the morning.  :D

Thanks, Dave. Doesn't matter how many books and video you use, until you stand on the ground you don't realize how important the high ground is at Gettysburg, especially LRT, much higher than it looks from below. Bought the obligatory tourist tat, fridge magnets, gray kepi and t-shirt, but also picked up a flattened carbine bullet and a piece of iron shrapnel for the Aston museum. I bought a new sign for my man cave; John Avenue, Gettysburg. Had to be bought!!!! Some wonderful reenactors here. :D

Sue and I always enjoyed our visits to Harpers Ferry, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
How's the jet lag by the way?

Fit, my head is perfectly formed!

Harpers ferry is very emotive, I did think that the
Engine room was smaller than I expected.

Went thro the Shenandoah valley to lewisburg,
Overnight at beckley, off into Kentucky tomorrow.

My relationship with country music could be described as tolerant. Still, the woman is 68, sells records, is booked on tours etc. She must be doing something right in the realm of musical entertainment. I hope You had a nice evening.

Dollywood was a great hoot. Spent the morning in Lexington visiting Jackson's grave and house, Lee's grave and the VMI, with an afternoon in Monticello (all men are created equal, but I'll keep my 170 slaves!)

Tomorrow all day in Williamsburg.  :D
