Blackwater Gulch News

Howdy Pardners!

I thought it might be a good idea to set up an ongoing news post for my game Blackwater Gulch. Let's start with the new retail releases!

The Widowmakers, Kurt Wyatt and Dr Kilmer from last year's Rebels & Reinforcements campaign have just been released for retail. It took a bit longer than they expected to get all of the sets packed up and boxes printed. Going forward, Game Salute is planning to release 1 new starter set and 2 hired guns each month.

Here are the direct links to their online store, or you can find a shop that stocks or can order them at GameStoreLocator.com :)

The Widowmakers - $30

Kurt Wyatt - $8

Dr. Kilmer - $8

And all other sets are available for preorder here:

And last but not least, you can learn more about the game and download the rules at http://www.blackwatergulch.com. I'll post more info when I find out what sets are next on the list!

Did you order him in the campaign and not get him yet?

Or did you mean to buy him now? I'm not sure what is going to be released next but I can definitely suggest they do shamus & doc lloyd next month :)

I missed out entirely on the KS (I was ill, not working at all, and broke at the time) but I managed to buy another Guys "pledge" off him - BUT he hadn't "added on" for Shamus McFox sadly.

Early Release would be GREAT!

I just emailed Game Salute about Doc & Shamus, and they said "Their scheduled release date is March 28, 2014."  :)

I do like these!
 :-* :-*

Unfortunately I was busy resisting Old West when this was Kickstarted.
How do they size up with Black Scorpion, and are we talking resin or metal?

They are all metal figures, and they are around 30mm to the eye. They're only a mm or 2 taller than your average black scorpion figure.. but you can't tell unless you use a ruler :)

I can make some size comparison pictures on Sunday if you like Mason... I backed their Kickstarter and own quite a few of the BS miniatures.

The miniatures are nice but some are thin (on the flimsy side, if that is a correct word and I don't mean this negative  :)) the Widowmakers have thin arms and other miniatures are much bulkier. I believe this is because they were sculpted by different people, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Cheers,
Za

edit: Oh I forgot to mention I really like the miniatures and it was a great kickstarter :D

....And I just found a few minutes to make a quick picture, so here it is.

The painted minis are BS  ;)

Hight wise they compare really well but on close inspection the biggish difference between the two is the size of the weapons. The BS weapons are more heroic scale whilst the BWG ones are more "normal" size. This is something that probably would annoy the purists among us but it isn't the end of the world.

Cheers,
Za

Thank you very much for taking the time to do this, Za!
 :D :D :D

They look like they will work just fine to me.
Consistent painting and basing should bring them together nicely.

Cheers, mate!
