Do, it, do, it, DO IT!  ;)

.......

Do it, do it (repeat to fade)

I plan to start in January, mate.
Myself and Bibbles should be heading to Oldhammer next year along with a few bits and pieces that we intend to get done next year.

And you are right: I have far too many old classics in boxes doing nowt.
Better to get doing something with them.
 :D

Happy to hear it :)  I love seeing people paint those old models rather than just stockpile them, even though I am as guilty as everyone else of same to an extent.

What cheetor said! Seeing everyone else's great minis is what keeps me making stuff myself. I look forward to seeing what 2015 holds for you Mason ;)

I couldn't resist a late night painting session to paint up the pair of Chaos cultists last night. Both adherents of a Slaaneshi cult called the Cult of the Silken Veil, I present Eunuch-Cultist Moktafi and slave mutant Gron-Slom:

I'm starting to love this thread, so many creative ideas blended with nice minis and lovely paintwork.

The head swaps on those commissar minis completely changes their whole look. I look forward to seeing how they turn out.

Great work. The bald head with the long hair on Gron Slom looks particularly depraved. :)

Love the ork conversion! The oddly sized limbs work very well with that paintjob, makes him look only slightly mutated, not out-of-scale converted. Great job and fine paintjobs!

Great work. The conversions are excellent, especially the ork body one.

Thanks guys! It's great you like the new figures. Trying to come up with new and interesting (or old and interesting?) stuff to paint is a lot of fun :)

yup I'm one of those with a stockpile of old RT era minis. I just cannot get back into painting at the moment. (not that I have been really into it for about 20 yrs, I just collect and horde  ;D )

Lovely conversions. Very inkeeping with Rogue Trader imagery.  :)

Reminds me I have a couple of figures on the go at the moment that I should post once they're finished.

I plan to start in January, mate.
Myself and Bibbles should be heading to Oldhammer next year along with a few bits and pieces that we intend to get done next year.

Cool.  ;)

My latest figure is a bit of a departure in that he's not really a retro figure, and wasn't originally conceived as a sci-fi figure at all. I built this guy below for a group convert/paint along project on the Oldhammer forums.

He is intended to represent a Champion of Tzeentch - a minotaur with a host of Chaos attributes (eyestalks, scorpion tail, big ears, rearranged face). As I started painting him however, I decided he would be nice as some sort of alien mercenary to accompany my Chaos Cultists. So I added a tiny little tech detail to his weapon, and mirrored the colour scheme from Gron-Slom. Hey presto, it's Bro'og the Gorgite, alien muscle for hire ;)

He's built from a host of different parts - the body is a Beast Face Miniatures minotaur, with the head from a Warploque Miniatures minotaur. I swapped the horned around and added eyestalks from a Hasslefree alien. The tail is from a Khorne fleshound and the mace head is from an old Zoat.

Oh, and he's massive!

Disclaimer: Completely unintentional resemblence to any amphibious annoying slapstick alien from a major sci-fi film franchise...
