Can you make his mouth bigger to get it closer to the old style one? I've always loved the big jaws on them.

I could do but I think that the head, as it stands, looks a lot less cartoony than the older Ogryn model and that suits the 'feel' of the rest of the army.

I still need to add some bulk to the back of the head and sort out his weapon hand but overall, he looks pretty much how I planned things. The weapon/shield will be made once all of the Bullgryns have been converted to the same standard and then all the weapons/shields will be sorted out together (so it will be easier to geth them all looking the same).

My main priority is the second platoon of Squats at the moment so the Bullgryn will be worked on slow time while my main focus is on the little chaps :) .

It's the usual level of clean up for Mantic's weird plastic resin... each badger took about 20 minutes to clean the mould lines away and glue together... I did one at a time with a gap in between for 'sanity' purposes :).

You have to cut the mould lines off rather than scrape them (as they tend to go 'fluffy') so you need a small but sharp blade and some extra patience.

It is the price you pay for the kits being so inexpensive, I guess (£2.00 per cavalry model isn't a bad price at all).

There is a bit of filling required as well... so you'll need some green stuff and a tool to smooth things together.

I think they are worth the effort :) . They look like badger/bear crossovers and will make a great cavalry mount for each of my rough rider Squats :)

Be warned though... the riders for these are BIG compared to a standard GW Squat model so they are no use to me (but may be of use if you plan to play KoW :D !).

Just a tip regarding 'restic': Get some of those tooth-brush like brass brushes (usually used for leather repairs) and work the 'fluff' with one. It's almost magic.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

A Suede Brush like this?

Interesting and potentially very useful tip.  But doesn't it scratch?

Exactly, and, no, I use it on both restic and plastic with very good results. I really wish I had seen that tip before I cleaned up my DreadBalll Corp team.

I buy the brushes in sets like this: https://eshop.silvan.dk/vare/basic-staalboerste-mini-2 (1 steel, 1 brass, one plastic), but very close to that one.

I had hoped to be a bit further along with these... but here are five finished gunners with five assembled missile launchers:

The loaders are on the table and are still WIP... but will be finished this week (at some point).

Nice additions to the growing force.

Have you see the Diggers from Macrocosm? They have a good little range which is expanding with the KS they are doing.

Might be of interest to you.

How are the Grymm coming along?

The Macrocosm Dwarfs are a good attempt but I am not a fan of the tiny heads and massive goggles. I am keeping an eye on them though because there is a lot of potential there.

The Grymn are always in Inso's world... but at the moment, they are on hold while I work on the Squats... in fact... everything is on hold while I work on the Squats :D

I still have the Grymn urban army to finish, the Walker platoon (waiting for Kev to sort the walker arms out) and the last vehicle in the Tunnel Fighter army but They will get worked on when the planets are in alignment (ie when my muse points me in that direction).

There are only so many hours in the day and at the moment Squats fill them all :)

All of the heavy weapon teams for the second platoon are now finished:

I've already got the remaining troops out for the first squad so things will hopefully move quite quickly :)

The last of the standard infantry squads for the second platoon is now finished :) :

I have started work on the army command HQ now... once they are finished I may start painting a few :)

They really look great.

AND kudos for your persistence with this many Squats as I reckon I would have gotten bored with so many similar figures by now.
