Cheers :)

It was pointed out to me that the angry Berserker had a 'monkey mouth' and I looked at it and agreed... so I have altered it a little and have seen an improvement :) . I listen to constructive criticism :) :

All the berserkers are finished now:

There are individual pix of all of the berserkers and a WIP pic of the next unit (veterans) over at Inso's World:

They do look great.
 :-* :-*

The overall feel of this unit is fantastic and those helmets certainly say 'Squat' to me.
The only thing that looks a little 'off' is the length of the weapon on the sergeant.
The picture on your blog seems to show it looking a little longer and I think it would look more balanced if it were shorter.
No big thing but I think it would improve the look.

I'll have a look at the Sgt's weapon and see what I can do (it'll be easy to shorten it).

All that is missing from this are two Beastmen, three Priests and the first five Scouts (the veterans aren't finished yet so they aren't ready for a big pic):

I will take another pic once I have finished the veterans :) .

In other news... I am completely shattered so I have only shortened the Sgt's power weapon and glued some helmets in place on the five basic veterans... I doubt if much more will happen this week :) (I am partying Friday and may take a while to recover ;D ! ).

Ooph! That army is impressive! :-* My favourite has to be the robots! Have you ever fielded the army?

I don't game... so this army is very unlikely to ever see the field of battle (unless I sell it :o ).

I thought he looked a little like a Wooki in the second picture ;)

Very nice work BTW! 8)

I take it your love of doing these is in the building and sculpting? What about hiring someone to paint these wee masterpieces? There's a guy on here, I don't know where from, but I was checking his blog and he only seems to charge about $9 for a good paint job and $15 for an exceptional paint job and his ability seems amazing! (OpponentTheory btw) I've never looked into it before but I imagine most commission painters are the same? Maybe send a wee bit away at a time and get that beautiful army painted but?

Commission someone to paint my babies!? The horror!

:D

I am a sculptor/converter first and painter second... but I am a painter and I enjoy that side of the hobby too. The trouble is I am obsessive and driven by muses. At the moment, my current muse is a sculpting one so I am enjoying that side of the hobby. However, I know that, as suddenly as a sudden thing, my sculpting muse will disappear at some point and then I will start painting.

What people don't see is all of the things that go on in the background of a project like this.

Army plans, paint tests, selecting colours, fluff and background... the list goes on.

I also view this project as ongoing until it is finished... there is no timescale. I don't game so I don't have to get it finished for gaming. I also don't display them... when they are finished, they will be packed away as finished and I will move onto the next big thing.

The trouble is that people want to see the finished product and I am more into the process than the finished product... but rest assured, I am keen to get paint on these miniatures... it's just that my painting muse has been on holiday for a long time and I am still awaiting her return :) .
