The fact that I am in the process of a career change, life change and move to a different part of the country would probably be enough to start with.

I don't think the quality is up to a standard that I would be happy to sell (yet) in the shops either.

I also want to retain ownership of any designs but don't want to do the production side of things so I would need a very understanding business partner.

... I am also very wary of turning my hobby into a job... if I do that, how do I relax and take my mind off things?

Does that start to answer the question?

It sure does.   Retaining ownership would be difficult if you didn't also want to do the business side of things.

Still, I have to point out that your sculpting work is better than much of what's out there, even better than a fair number of recent releases.

Good work on the assassin - he's very recognisable for what he is!

Something about the mask feels a little "off" to me, but I didn't really want to mention it as I can't put my finger on why (and because it still is a very nice bit of sculpting!).

It is deliberately soft and simple... a bit like the rubber military gas-masks. I didn't want it to be a skull... just a crude representation of one.

I would imagine that a little paint will clarify things a bit :)

I can understand the statement though... it is very simplistic :)

Yeah, a gasmask is exactly what it reminds me of... Maybe it's that combined with having no lenses that's causing that little "itch"?

GW have this on pre-order and it rocks:

Link: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/deathwatch-corvus-blackstar

It has all the bulk you'd expect from a dropship and with a bit of tinkering could be suitable for many different games.

...but that aside, it looks perfect to use as a Valkyrie replacement for my little Squat army... so I may well be altering the organisation again soon :)

(To make it a Valkyrie; don't fit weapons on the top, fit a single lascannon to the front (instead of two) and use the rocket pods instead of the big missile pods... and I'll have to get rid of all the inquisition symbols and eagles).

Nice work on the bodies.
They look spot on.

As for that GW flying wotsit, you have gotten me thinking about what else it could be used for too.
I dont think that is a good thing, though..... ::)

I have had a dodgy moment with the planned Eversor Assassin and he ended up massive... so I did this instead... I went and finished the veteran Tyranid hunters :) :

...and so the production line starts again. From leg sculpt, to press moulding and finally to being assembled with plastic components from a Mantic Steel Warrior... all that is needed now is the belt buckle, pouches and holsters to be sorted out and these will be finished:

I have another lump of putty in the mould at the moment and that should be ready to remove tomorrow.

I plan on having six squads of five and that means I need to sculpt five different poses of legs to make every squad have no legs the same. I have already finished the first unit of five in one leg pose, this is the second with a third leg sculpt 'on the corks'. Once I have produced six casts from each of the five leg poses, I will mix them into their final units :)...

Then I will have six units of Squat Hearthguard (count as Space Marine Scouts) :) .
