Cheers :)

I have contacted a caster to see if I can get the legs cast up... so I will be getting a bunch made up to see how the 'process' works; with a view to getting some miniatures cast up later in 2017.

Obviously, there will be spare legs so I will likely sell them to like-minded Squat generals...

... I'll keep enough to put together my little unit though :)

One step closer :) . The legs are finished and tabbed, ready to go for casting :) . As you can see from the picture, they are designed to fit in one way only (so adjustment would need to be made to turn the body, if you wanted to do that). I have also shown that the legs fit other bodies from the same kit... now it's just a case of getting them cast up :o ...

As cool as frozen wastes.  :-*
You take a fairly uninteresting kit and turn it into something unique and eye-catching. It's a gift, I think.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Sometimes, it helps to see progress to keep you motivated.

Lovely Tartaros Exo Armour conversions - very well done!  :D

I do have one question though - on the part where the legs mate to the torso, why have you press-moulded a key onto the top of the legs? Surely making it smooth (and thus allowing a little variation) via a ball-and-socket joint is preferable?

Because the abdomen armour fits in the front recess of the torso... In order to ball and socket them, I would need to convert the torsos as well.

That army shot!  :o

Great project, I guess there's no end to be seen with Squats?

Thanks to SDKFZ (an excellent tank builder on another forum) and his excellent Hanomag scratchbuild for a Chimera... I have started converting a 1/35th Tamiya Hanomag half track. So far I have glued the top and bottom of the hull together and then cut down the centreline of the kit. I then cut out a segment about 2cm from each side. The idea is to shorten and widen the kit. So far so good. All the cutting has been done and I have cleaned things up. I have also put in a lot of battens so that I can join everything together (they still need trimming but they need to dry at the moment). The next job is to put in a 1cm spacer down the middle and then assemble the hull. Here is my little workspace while my house is in disarray:

Note... the port is sitting minding it's own business... :)

This is a wonderful project! Lovely sculpting and really well thought out conversions.

How can a home possibly be in disarray when a charged decanter is so close at hand?

I can't wait to see this force painted.

It won't be for a while because my paint is in storage at the moment. I can't unpack it until I have somewhere to put it.

I am stuck with sculpting and Squats at the moment (with a bit of vehicle converting on the side).

I would love to be getting stuck into the painting but I am a bit stuck :(
