Only Kirk's full dress wrap around was green, but I gather there was a problem with colour film at the time.  This was one of the first TV programmes in colour when I was boy, IIRC.

21 months and going strong...........

Checking the encyclopaedia, it seems that the tan uniform was the duty uniform, dress uniform was a green top in two different styles, a wraparound style and a full dress with gold braid and medals.

It turns out that the green wraparound was a deeper gold color to go with the duty uniform and they didn't know it would show up as green until they actually aired the episode. In mock-ups of the bridge the colors don't really match the original set colors, they have to correct it so it resembles the colors every body is used to seeing on TV!

I had a feeling that it was a colour film issue, still in its infancy.

I always thought it was the other way around... the command jersey was green, but showed up gold under the lights and on screen... that's why the command jersey is more yellow and the other 'command' jerseys are more of a beige

EDIT: I said that actually on page one of this thread...

What worries me is what the producers of TNG were thinking when they put male crew members in the mini dress uniform.
