Garanhir Slowly Paints Saxon Miniatures
« on: January 11, 2015, 10:31:34 AM »
I thought it was well past time that I actually posted something on this here board, so I hope you enjoy this humble offering. This is Saxon Miniatures' version of the Sutton Hoo chief resident; I took the colour scheme from Stella Goodsir's reconstruction.

Really nice! The yellow trim on the robes sets it off very nicely.

Looks the part though I'd like to see the base a little more detailed  :-*

Garanhir Plods Through his Saxon Miniatures

I'm not exactly the most breakneck-quick of painters, but updates will appear from time to time. Since Colin Patten has put up three new lip-smacking images of new sets on his Facebook page, I think I might need to get cracking on  these. They are very nice to paint.

There's this one to be going on with.

Took a while for some other figures to get out of my painting queue, but here's Erik Bloodaxe.

These miniatures take to a paintbrush beautifully, and are very pleasant to paint.  I'll be using them not only for my fantasy game but for any dark Age shenanigans I might get involved with in the future.

Great colour on the cloak. The shield on the previous figure, too. That creamy shade of off-white works well, especially with the red.

Looking good! Works to be proud of.

I know how it is to paint slowly, but as long as you're enjoying yourself, it's all good!

thanks
