It's the discounted spy drones he's using. Only one careless owner

Little squads, small drop ships and the like make for the most fun I think. Believable skirmishes are more interesting narratively in 28mm than a large battle line.

It also means you can model and paint all sorts of things without getting bored! :D

This is a great way of multi-using one's collection!  8) And of course, you get a good reason to get some minis more  ;D And besides all that, we get to see cool things this way, win-win for all of us :D

Careful.
They may be watching you right now.
May be.....I would know if they were, as the image is so damn blurry!

Thank you, sir.
Much appreciated.

Ooh! Can't wait to see photos of that. I love the idea of terrain that "transforms" for different settings.

Thanks, chaps.
That is one of my main aims when it comes to scenery these days: Space saving.
I do not have room for many more boxes of scenery now so I aim to 'multi-purpose' as much of it as possible.
This stuff works well enough, I suppose, but really needs to be more genre specific.
Some extras will be made to do on to each building to sci-fi them up a bit.
I shall post it up here when I get some proper 'add-ons' done.
 ;)

Just the addition of stuff like Sci Fi crates, barrels,  pv panels,  turbines,  moisture collectors,  heat pumps, sir con units, etc would totally change the feel. It'll look great.

Remember the episode of the old Battlestar Galactica with the old west planet? A damaged cylon was a gunfighter called Red Eye (or something like that). It reminds me of that.

That is what I am thinking.
I have enough of that kind of stuff for when I finally get around to some 'desert planet' stuff.
I may as well multi purpose it rather than stick it in place.

I do!
I have the old series on DVD.
I may have to dig it out and see if I can base a game of I'Munda on it.

By your command......

Both Ainsty and Fenris have great sci fi odds and ends that would work well though I'm sure you've got it covered

Have a mashup with the Viking, and play with his seahorse stage coach :D

Everyone wants a bit of desert planet terrain. Not to mention is a lot easier to model, store and game on than dense jungle lol lol

Ramblings But I am tempted by a bunker/vault/spachesip complex OR Cave systerm... That is pretty useful too.  8) /ramblings

cheers

A bit off-topic, but regarding transforming terrain, I'm reminded of this "magnetised village" idea which I'm still thinking of copying: http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=339952

Looking at the large desert cliffs and outcrops currently on my worktable, I'm not so sure about the "easier to store" bit...
"When to keep awake against the camel's swaying or the junk's rocking, you start summoning up your memories one by one, your wolf will have become another wolf, your sister a different sister, your battle other battles, on your return from Euphemia, the city where memory is traded." - Italo Calvino

I want to do both but the jungle is going to get done first as I already have loads to work with and I think that desert dwellings are going to become VERY popular VERY soon.

Me too, but that will have to wait until I find just the right system for storage.
I have me an idea for that, though....

And I finally got around to adding a few more Eldar to the band to make them a 'game-able' force....

(Taken just before they got their first appearance on a table earlier. Photos of that to follow later.... :)).

Very colourful team you have there Paul. I better grab my shades ... 8) 8) 8)

For a cave, I'm thinking tiles which stack in a box. ... Fixed terrain in tile form works quite well I think.

Cheers

Love the colours. Not sure I'd be brave enough to try a colour scheme like that, but it sure works!

Thanks, fellas.
I wouldn't normally go for anything like that as it really does not work with my painting style but I felt that I would try and make them fit in with the Dreadnaught from earlier the thread..

(More details about the Dread are on page 3)

Of course, the down side is any additions (of which there are a few to come) will have to blend in too.... ::)

Oh, I am settled on that idea: They will all be 8x10 and stack neatly in an A$ paper box.
It is the exact concept that I need to settle on as I want multi-purposing as I will only be building one system so it has to cover all the bases.
 ;)
