I'd apologize for the double post, but I didn't want to add photos to such a text heavy message. Instead I'll post some more figures. First up, Bossk.

I'm calling him Bossk, even though this is not a correctly sculpted version of Bossk. The straps around his legs aren't there and some of the other details are inconsistent with how he looks in Empire. Oh well, this is the last figure from the box set so Yeah!!! I also took a shot of him with his Trandoshan buddies.

I also painted IG-88.

Not exactly a difficult paint job, but the mold must have slipped on this one because he doesn't line up very well.

I took a shot of all seven painted miniatures of the Tiger Corps.

I still have three more to go, but I wanted an excuse to re-shoot the guys from yesterday. That's all for now.

Thank you everyone. I'm still having fun painting Star Wars stuff, but those Mars Attacks minis had me looking through the box, and I might have to paint up some Martians soon. There's no reason Martians can't show up in Star Wars, right?

Mars Attcks is the crossover king. Ghostbusters, transformer, image comics Judge Dreadd.

Everything is fair game With them I reckon. :)

Cool bossk too

Michka,
Thank you for the reply to my question.
Really good advice on cleaning the mold lines.
Looks like a Star Wars painting weekend. :)

Thank you everyone.

jimbibbly, you are truly an inspiration. I love all the Star Wars threads lately but yours is my second favorite. (Mine is my favorite, but only because I get to play with these toys when they're finished.)

Mason, Trannies???  Huh.

Constable Bertrand, Those two were my favorites too. I'm happy with the human standing on the Martian head too, but the other two guys in green turned out much better then I expected. Almost decided to repaint the first three till I remembered how many minis sit in the plastic mountain. Sanity won the day.

JoeRugby, I can see it now. Mars Attacks Tattooine. Burning Banthas running through the streets. Landspeeders filled with armed farmers trying to rescue their droids and women-folk. AT-ATs vs Giant Stumpy Robots. X-Wings vs. Flying Saucers. Jabba vs. Giant Fleas. This could work.

Marine0846, glad to help out. Have fun with your minis. In spite of my complaints I do love these miniatures.

You know, if we ever want to bring back the B-Movie Game, this could be right up there with Surf Zulus at Blood Beach and The Guns of Walton's Mountain....

Thank you overwatch and orc. I still have loads of stuff to paint, so there's more to come.

mpennock, do you think What-Khan is ready for another B-Movie game? Come to think about it, are we?

Not a bad little game, but I just couldn't warm up to all the cards and counters and special rules. I'm sure if I played a bunch of games I'd get into it, but as an old man I only get to play occasionally, so I like my rule sets simple and elegant.

Apologies if you have, but have you tried Pulp Alley?  I'm just getting into it, and it seems quite a few folks are using it to get their Star Wars game on - it fits the quoted criteria pretty well  8)

Great mini's in this thread - now I'm contemplating adding Star Wars to my list of (unfinished, of course!) projects...

pulpgoblin, Thanks for the idea. We've played a couple games of Pulp Alley and I really like it. Haven't tried anything sci-fi yet, but I'd love to give the cyberpunk adaptation rules a try. I'm sure PA would work for Star Wars too, but I'm still in love with the old West End Games rules. The RPG rules are basic enough that you can use them for wargaming, and their Miniatures Battles rules still hold up.

Update time. I present the BanDai AT-ST. (Warning, there are lots of photos here.)

And the requisite scale shot with Imperial Assault Stormtrooper...

The base is a Game Workshop large flight base. I cut the foot connectors off the BanDai square base and glued them on the flight base. Then I layered on putty to level out the foot pads. This way the AT-ST is still removable from the base. I then laid on some Brown Earth texture paste. This was too light so I added GW Stirland Mud, which is a darker brown texture paste.

Here's a scale picture with all of my AT-ST models.

From Left to Right, Fleet Action toy, Imperial Assault miniature, BanDai Model and the old AMT model. Sorry I don't have a WOTC plastic miniature for scale. I never needed one for my WEG figures. The sizes of the BanDai and the AMT models are surprisingly close. The difference between the BanDai model and the Imperial Assault miniature came as a bit of a disappointment. However, the sculpt of the IA miniature is so odd that you could say these are different classes of scout walker. Check out this side by side comparison...

Even though the IA walker is shorter, the weapons are pretty much the same size. Also, the odd line details on the side of the head don't match the official AT-ST at all. I'm probably just justifying having three of the IA walkers, but a case could be made for there being yet another class of scout walker. Let me know what you think.

I don't see any problem with having 2 types of scout walker

WOW nice modelling out there!!!!  :-*

i have the old AMT one for my WEG, and i agree that aren't too different in comparison with the new Bandai.

I guess Bandai's is too big for WEG anyway  :'(
