Hi Folks

Started the latest Shed Wars project this weekend - the construction of a modular Tomb to go under my pyramid and Egyptian temple...

Started with this

and the first room looks like this...

Still very much work in progress but you can follow it here

This is genius! I've been looking for a way to build some sort of dungeon that I could afford for quite a while now, and this looks like a very cool solution.

You could even store things inside of it, when its packed away. Good stuff.

That's an excellent idea Giles! Now start again so that your wall stones line up at the corners  ;)
So many projects..... so little time.......

They are not glued in at the moment... ;)

Dean you can take some credit for this as it was your adobe buildings from the Ikea drawers that set me off on this path..

now, that is avery cool idea. But aren't You afraid to scratch away layers of colour each time pulling and pushing the drawers?

I've seen a similar idea somewhere. Some sort of babushka-style terrain. Each fit in another piece, so storaging away 9 pieces require room for three in the end.

I will follow that project. ;)

The rooms and corridors will be stored in the frame box. I'll eventually varnish the outside of the boxes so the paint won't rub off.

Now that I know the concept has legs I'll lay out the first tomb and drawn in all the features for cutting. I should have sufficient with three draw units to build a reasonable sized tomb. Once these are complete I can always add more.

They're very useful boxes :)

Is the flooring a printout? Looks like hirst arts floor pieces but not deep enough.

3mm Foam core with the paper removed and then etched with a biro

Nice one, Giles.
It works well.

I planned something similar after seeing Dewbakuk's build but could not find the damn things.

Whereabouts are they in IKEA?

They are in the Storage area...all the boxes, craters etc. Look for Moppe  - £18.00 per set

I had a couple of them some years ago, in fact my paints are still in two of the large drawers, and could not remember what they were called.

Nice work Giles!  8)

For the corridor sections, would you not be better leaving the inserts loose? That way you can have a duel use for each box. As a corridor or a room?
