My thought exacly everytime I see a new campaign announced  :D

Depends, new company or new project, then I can see the point. When you've already raised about 7 million dollars and have a proven product...
So many projects..... so little time.......

Indeed, but doing it this way, with all the machinery costs covered by Bones 1, just gives them a cool million $ or so sitting on the account for the next year earning interest. Reaper don't need to do KS campaigns, they never did. Just gives them access to large amounts of risk free, clawback free, zero interest capitol to invest.

And I can't fault them on that.

^Finally, someone who understands.

If you run any business...ANY business, and you had two options:

Option A) Invest capital in producing a new product with the hope that it sells.

Option B) Gather capital up front by willing customers to fund the initial development and production.

Which would you go with?  Option B all day long.  I've never understood the nonsense "they're abusing the point of a Kickstarter..." tripe.  No one's putting a gun to anybody's head to buy stuff.  Kickstarter is awesome that it also allows fresh companies to do that, but why do people feel it's wrong for a company to make a much much safer business investment?

Now, delivery schedules, piss poor products, failed goals, lying, and abuse of gathered funds - that's a sour sticking point.

Some nice models in there but I've hardly started on my Bones 2 KS I got.

Also I wish they would release the rest of the Bones 2 figures, as its been about 6 months since they were completed.

That's a good point 6mm, I'm wondering when all of bones 3 will get released as there is stuff in the first expansion I want but so much I don't want. The irregular release schedule of bones 2 has made me wonder how long a wait it will be!

I guess they need their production capacity on Bones 3, as well as their existing ranges...
And I don't care how companies use Kickstarter or other crowdfunding methods, as long as they deliver and they deliver something I like enough to back.
Reaper will deliver, but I don't like bones, I don't like/need most of the models in this batch so I only will buy a few add-ons ( frost Giants, maybe a few dragons, maybe not... ).

Which lead-adventurers.de forum would be best to announce this big gun?  :-*

I was also curious what "Bonesium" is.  They show some of the weapon packs in that material - is it different from the normal Bones?  Weapons made out of Bones would be a tough sell.

Wow, I thought that megacannon & crew was a joke? Seems kinda awkwards, I can see bunch of people wanting that and nothing else, and vice versa?

As an add on people can choose whether to buy it or not - and can also support at the lowest level to get this alone, so that shouldn't be a problem. Or if I'm wrong, they'll be sold/bought by backers/non-backers.

Apparently the weapons will be polystyrene not PVC thing Bonesium white stuff, so not the same bendy issue.

But they cannot confirm the material the BFG will be made of yet.

Reckon it should bring in some bids just for it alone, and I think its a nice idea to do it. Tempted but want to confirm what the casting material will be first.

That was my assumption, as super bendy Bones weapon sprues would be an absolute nightmare.

Agreeing with a lot of others here, I backed the previous 2 campaigns and this time I'm just going in on some of the bigger models.  Bones material has been pretty great for the larger humanoids and monsters, but not so much for the human sized.  For those I much prefer working with metal.

Depends… some small figures are quite nice too. I especially like the Mouseling, Kobolds, Dwarfs and Halfling figures. Some Human figures do seem to lack details, especially in the face area…
