Kurgan's Thrilling Pulp Adventures!

I'll try and keep this thread updated as I add to my Pulp collection. It's only small at the moment but it will grow if I can get some of my regular gaming group interested!

My first attempt at painting Pulp models in the Prof's style:





They aren't finished yet - they still need some details touched-up, bases painted and a coat of varnish.

I like the first Copplestone gent, the cloth folds are well done, particularly in the back of his jacket. Looks very rumpled! I should really paint up my copy of that figure too so it's quite inspirational to see him.

The other gent doesn't quite seem to work as well though, but I'm not sure if that's the painting or the figure to blame since he has very 'sausage' like limbs without much cloth detail and a rather unnatural pose imho. Looks like he's in an 'about to be hit by a speeding car at night' stance!

The second chap is a Black Tree Design models (from their old Doctor Who range I think) and wasn't as nice to paint.  

I've got some more Copplestone's and some Artizan stuff on order - they should be much nicer!

I think the painting on both is very good. The first, more so than the second. My criticsm of the second would be that his clothes seem to be "striped" and not smooth in color.

But I can't wait to see what else you get painted up. Thanks for sharing.

I haven't really yet! But I have a vague idea about the chap with the book being the leader of a secret society protecting some artifact (along with the other fella and Artizan's Rashid, Osman and Yusuf).

Obviously Captain Withnail and the Copplestone "American Adventurers" (that just arrived on my desk!) are going to be after it.

Artizan's Fez wearing gentlemen are lovely sculpts and each one has quite a distinctive middle eastern face. I had a lot of fun painting them myself.

I do as well - that's why I only have a can of "satin" spray! It just doesn't look great in close-up photos!    It's fine if I use it sparingly, but I did the flyboy in a hurry....

Very nice painting and I really like the descriptions of them. They really fit the character of the miniatures..
