Vampires and Frost Wraith! Looking at the Nickstarter's new figures jogged my memory and I realized I had some minis I had painted previously that would be perfect for them. The vampire on the right is from GW. I painted him several years ago. I thought he could be one of Felsted's native vampires, frozen millennia ago and revived with the thaw. The vampire on the left is from Ral Partha's Ravenloft line. I view him as an adventurer who ran afoul of one of the creatures of the night, a cautionary tale of the myriad dangers of the Frostgrave. The frost wraith is a blue plastic toy I found at a thrift store. I painted it as an experiment with washes and high lights not knowing how great it would be for this game.

Skeletons(part 1)! Looking at the Nickstarter I realized that the skeletons I painted before, page 4 of this thread, are Armoured Skeletons . I did some furious digging into lead mountain and found some less armoured. These are all from the late, great Grenadier Miniatures all with 1988 stamped on them. There was a fantastic hobby store in my neck of the woods, Merlin's Books. Through the 80s & 90s they carried fantasy and Sci Fi minis from Grenadier, Ral Partha and GW. Merlin's also had a huge selection of used sci fi and fantasy books and a great selection of used games. Alas all things pass and Merlin's Books closed early on in the new millennium. These skeletons were probably some of the last fantasy figs I collected. Space 1889 was just about to be released and my love affair with VSF was about to start.

Skeletons (part 2)! The figs on the far right and left are from Grenadier 1988. The one second left is from Ral Partha. I love this mini. The sculptor  did an incredible job, such detail. I believe I purchased these after seeing Army of Darkness. The final fig is very old the date on the base is 1978. Its by Heritage. This mini waited 37 years for paint.

Treasure Hunter and Javelineer! First thanks for the kind words and feedback gentlemen! Hearing from my peers on the board is greatly appreciated. The new characters provided by the Nickstarter have been inspirational. Case in point the Javelineer. The fig is an angry pitchfork wielding villager from Ral Partha's Ravenloft line. I trimmed two tines off the fork and split his right fist to add the javelin. The Treasure Hunter is an ACW officer from Foundry. At the turn of the century I ordered a bunch of Civil War figs from Foundry, due to mix up I ended up with lots of officers. Foundry was very good about fixing their problem even letting me keep the mishipped minis. I think this Treasure Hunter has been one of my favorites to paint. It's his dynamic pose and facial expression. I gave the fig an opera bouffe  jaeger uniform and it really took off!

Bronze Statue! The statue is a plastic fig from Hero Quest. I gave most of those minis to my nephews years ago, this one was found in an old bits box. The stiffness of the figs pose combined with the lack of weight made it perfect for a statue on a pillar. Like Fencing Frog and Achilles I used a craft store wooden spool for a plinth. These come 6 to a bag and are inexpensive. I looked at older bronze statuary for my colour scheme, I'm very happy how the verdigris turned out. This isn't a "living" statue, more of set decoration and arrow blocker.

Wonderful! Love the idea of this! It's too bad that Mike Owen didn't make more wizards for his Steampunk FOG range as it seems like thugs and monsters abound but it's hard to find good Victorian wizard figures and their matching apprentices.

You know, it would be kinda cool to use some of the warbands from 'In Her Majesty's Service'. The idea of the Thule Society exploring Frostgrave is appealing.
