Lousy pic, but it should give you an idea about the size.
from left to right :
supermutants : CMON ogre with chain gun ; HF Druuschan Jothun #2 ; Brother Vinni Postapoc Ogre ; Dreamblade Butcher
humans : em4miniatures (grenadier) scavenger; GW cultist ; Reaper Bones' The Black Mist ; GW terminator from way back.

CMON mini comes with the rocky outcrops as base hence why he's so tall. Dreamblade figs are 40mm so that one's more of a supermutant overlord.

Awesome! Thanks zizi666! Keep em coming everyone! This is really helpful. Definitely like that CMON ogre....

YES! This is exactly what I needed! Thanks so much Hupp! Good to know those reaper Orcs aren't so far off... I was eyeing those, as well as the Hasslefree stuff.

No problem, yeah they are a bit pot-bellied but it's covered by the armor enough to look convincing IMO.  Some of the poses are better than others, though I'm considering headswaps on just about all of them, and possibly on some of the metal barbarians. While we're discussing suitable Super Mutant figure options, anybody know of separate heads that would work with, for example, the Reaper Bones orcs?

Wow, I just read this thread from start to finish and it's amazing!  Really impressive stuff.

Two suggestions.

1- If you're still looking for cheap o-scale cars, check Menards, they have a line of pre-weathered boxcars for $20 each and they can be ordered online.  Their basic flatcars are only $8 each, but I think you might have to go in-store for them. http://www.menards.com/main/c-14331.htm
Menards actually has a pretty wide range of o-scale stuff, much of it at bargain prices compared to what O stuff usually goes for.

2- Switching from GW to craft paint (avaialble at michaels/JoAnn/HobbyLobby/etc) will save you a bundle when it comes to terrain painting.

Keep up the good work!

I'm glad you enjoyed my thread! I have had an immense amount of fun building and painting all this stuff - with more to come! Thanks for the suggestions. I will check out the cars. I use hobby paint to do my mai nbasecoats for all my terrain - but use the GW, mainly because I already own the colors and don't have to go out and buy some new craft paint. Im sure my craft paint collection will slowly grow, though.

Also, I'd point out that the Heresy Barbarians are generally a bit taller than those from Hasslefree, as Super muties should be nice and big.  Both awesome companies to order from though, (I'm in the US as well and have never bothered with distributors for their lines) and great sculpts.  :)  I just realize some people actually stick to a budget or draft their warband list before buying shiny toys, so may not need that many...  ::)

Don't get me started down that path! Must resist. o_o

Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

Oh my God! Those tables you guys get to play on look so amazing. I really like the addition of ladders and walkways combined with the highway. It brings back some of the necromunda feel with very 3D terrain while keeping the terrain realistic.

You guys play on a 6x4?

Glad you like it! No, they played on a 4x4 for this game, but kept the table full of stuff to make it cinematic for the photos. The board itself is 6x4.

I like the walkways onto the overpass, the damaged concrete reinforcing wire, and the rusty pixar cars. 8) the road signs are very cool too 8) 8)

Nice table setup!

Cheers

I whipped up this terrain piece today to add some more city-scape feel to my board. My WIP super mutant for scale.

As his buddy told me on Facebook, comes up on a search of "o scale street light" on ebay.  :)
