I need suggestions for a Dr. Manhattan (Watchmen)
« on: February 24, 2016, 05:28:38 PM »
I'm going to pick up the Knight Models figures for Watchmen in the very near future, and would like to add a Dr. Manhattan to the group for display on my shelf. The character design itself is very simple, so it doesn't seem so difficult. The scale presents a bit of a problem however. I'd like something at least in scale with the KM figures. I don't mind if he's a giant, but would prefer he not be.

So, any suggestions out there for a 32 to 35mm bald, mostly or completely naked muscle man figure who isn't holding any weapons?

There's Heroclix. They seem to scale nicely with the KM
(Regular size)
(Giant)
Larger than regular size)

And if you want a colossal one
(Stands about a foot)
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.

The one with Silk Spectre might work. I'll need to track one down to look at with my own eyes.

What about the reaper or hasslefree sculpting dollies? Just sculpt some danglies on them and you're good to go! :)
never trust a horse, they make a commitment to shoes that no animal should make.

This one is weirdly hard. The closest I could find were these two guys from Crossover miniatures.

I suppose making a 35mm scale nekkid baldy hasn't been on the top of most miniature sculptors' to-do list o_o

Sounds more like a "dolly" to sculpt over. those might actually be worth a look here?

Just dawned on me why the one with Silk Specter is "taller", He's levitating.

I have all of them (Including the one with Silk Specter on his own base). I can take a pic next to pretty much any other Clix figure if you want a comparison. Not sure if you have any clix figures in your collection.

I have hundreds, bordering on thousands of clix..despite not having played in years. What I'm curious about with the heroclix ones, is whether he would stand up next to the Knight Models figures for the Watchmen. The one with Silk Spectre looks like the best option of the bunch so far.

Thanks for all the suggestions folks, keep them coming if you think of any more.

If you want a larger figure, there is Ace from Heroclix Crisis set.

What is the source for the other models? Nightwing and Robin?

Those would be crossover miniatures, they are not sold under the names you mentioned though.  :D

The Robin is a Crossover Miniatures' The Kid http://crossoverminiatures.com/product/the-kid/

The Nightwing is a conversion of Crossover Miniatures Everest http://crossoverminiatures.com/product/everest/
