You guys make it sound like he hasn't sculpted anything in years; not true. He's done fantastic 15mm Fantasy figures, and great stuff for Frostgrave, just to name the two I'm familiar with

This is the colonial adventures board you know, so fantasy doesn't count  lol

Fantastic! This is an inspiration. Really want to see Copplestone return to historical matters as what output there has been over the last few years has been mostly fantasy--although I'd make an exception for Barbarica Romans

I second that emotion. I keep hoping that one day (after the Romans) that he'll make figure for the Western African savannah, horsemen for Bornu and the related kingdoms :P

Does anyone know if these princesses match the scale of the foundry Darkest Africa, or of the hugely larger more recent Copplestone figures?

I'm hoping against the odds that Mark has finally realized the folly of allowing 'scale creep'.

Ordered mine yesterday. So I can tell you in a few days if Northstar and the postman are fast enough :-)

A bit unfair on Foundry!  They sell the official miniatures for Congo, and the figures in the box sets were chosen specifically by Studio Tomahawk.

I don't think to be unfair about Foundry. I just ask them to do something new to celebrate the Congo release. Not to reboot the old range of DA.
I like Foundry Figurines but i 'm still surprise about their commercial policy.
A lot of references in the DA range are still missing in the production line ....sniff
ok they have not more Coppelstone in their team but there are some good sculptors in the business around to complete some news references to boost their excellent range.
 ;)

Saw this on the Congo facebook group from Doc Remington:

''Some people were curious about the Massai elder I posted. He was sold as a limited run by Copplestone Castings some 5 (time flies) years ago. They were so limited that Mark hand cast them. For completeness sake I'd like to create this post to show off the other minis of that run. I don't have pictures of all of them, but perhaps in time.
So there was the tribal elder (posting my rendition below), a Watuta chief (picture below), a Chokwe elephant hunter (picture below), a pygmy (no pic) and a European naval officer (no pic).
Hopefully Northstar have received the moulds and we'll be seeing them soon on their website.''

It'd be nice if these freebies were available again. I have the pygmy warrior and Chokwe elephant hunter already, but I'd love to get my hands on the Watuta chief and British naval officer. Here's hoping that North Star does indeed get the moulds.
