Been away for a couple of days for work again, but got a bit more detailing done last night....more bits of wood, plus another layer of foamcard onto the back of the (  ) section.

Still lots more to do....and I need to factor in time to paint it as well.....

Great work!

I may have missed this somewhere, but how big is it?

Great work!

I may have missed this somewhere, but how big is it?

The main station, is the "frisbee" is 23" (59cm) diameter, but from the tip of one pylon, to the opposite pylon is 34" (87cm).

I've taken a photo with a Revell Venator, for reference purposes (not part of the build), again in 1/2256 scale.

Haven't even thought that far ahead, but now you mention it, I'd better get some more paint in - will prime it light grey, and then highlight, as per my other Star Wars models.

Still plenty to do before I get to that stage....more detailing, finish the bracket, finish the docking arms, add the turbo lasers....the list goes on.

Totally this! :o

You need to show it against a well recognised 28mm miniature! We really need to be able to appreciate the amount of work you've put in to it!

You are going to detail and light the interior of the command deck, right? ::)

Added just over 100 more little squares to the model, each 6mm in size.... beginning to go slightly nuts....  I've also removed the cradle, as the brackets are study enough to support the station, until I sort out a large enough base.

Ive added a 25mm WEG Darth Vader to the next photo (sorry not 28mm but he seemed appropriate) ....he is the black dot just to the right of the centre...

Cheers Shaun  :)

Already done.  Unfortunately as the hull is already sealed down you'd have to really small to see it.

As much as I'm enjoying the build, I need to start thinking about how long the painting will take.

I'm going to do my best to finish the detailing in the next few days - as a priority, I have to finish the central (  )  bracket section, which needs tidying up....the temptation is to just keep on adding details but then I will run out of time.

For the base I've got a piece of acrylic being cut to size.... I don't have the tools or skills to do this myself, so hopefully that is ok otherwise I'll just give it a smaller temporary base for the contest and swop it out afterwards.

It's looking fabulous  8)

I don't see how having the flight stand cut for you would or could be a breach of the rules: you have put so much time into the build that the commercial element must be negligible.  :)
