Manufacturers of Star Wars Figures Compatible with 28mm?
« on: February 02, 2017, 06:24:45 PM »
I am looking for guidance in finding manufacturers who make Star Wars figures that are compatible with other 28mm space related figures.  I have recently purchased the Colony 87 and Astropolis figures, and they are wonderful, but I am looking to fill out my space population with some Star Wars figures that are size compatible with the above Colony 87 and Astropolis figures I have.  I am not interested in the troopers or rebels as much as figures that represent the various races that populate the Star Wars' worlds.  I noticed that WizKids make several Star Wars lines with lots of different figures but when I checked them out on Trolls and Toads they were described as being significantly larger than a 28mm figure would be... any information about those figures would be appreciated.    Thanks for the help.  Richard

The WOTC aliens don't look bad next to other 28's. Who knows what size an alien should be anyway  ;)

aliensurfer, are Wizards of the Coast Star Wars figures the same as those identified as Wizkids figures.  I went on amazon and typed in Wizards of the Coast and got the Star Wars figures I referenced in my initial posting... those were id as by Wizkids.  My problem with those is that when I looked at them on on Troll and Toad they looked good but were identified as being 3 inches tall.  Is that correct.  Can someone clear that up for me?  Thanks, Richard

The WOTC pre-paints are not 3 inches tall, they are 28-30mm. Wizkids is a different company and have never made any Star Wars figures to my knowledge. A link to what you found would be useful.

Hi,

I had one of those Wizard of the Coast pre-painted Star War figures. Can't put my hands on it but recall it been rather tall, over 30mm+ However, other boards have given a more exact opinion on the WOTC range as 32mm:

e.g. http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=440709

Hope this helps.

twrchtrwyth, the Troll and Toad website is trollandtoad.com once there look to your left and you will see Browse Products... click on Miniatures which will take to to the listing that shows Star Wars as the first item.  Best I can do for you.  I've got my answer.  Thank you skirmisher.

They are giving you packaging size - the Wizkids Star Wars minis were basically 28 to 32mm scale models of widely varying quality.  If there are certain ones you want to see, throw up a list, and if I have them, I will post you a photo beside a more standard figure.  Heck, in a week or two, I should be getting my Colony 87 figures, and I will use those.

I used a bunch of them (purchased at Troll and Toad) for a side WH40K Project. They scale in perfectly with regular 28mm minis. You can have a look in here:
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=69419.msg1085186#msg1085186

They even can be used with the Imperial Assault minis (even if they tend more to the 30-ish than the expected 28mm...)

Hope it helps.
