Ghost Archipelago at Liberty Hobby Center
« on: September 14, 2020, 08:17:46 PM »
Joel led us in our second game of Frostgrave Ghost Archipelago Thursday night. Even though Wally and I were able to gang up on him and take his Heritor Mork the Ork out, he still managed to win the game by getting the central treasure. We used a mix of figures including the Thistle & Rose/Vendel Elizabethan/Border Reiver figures we manufacture and sell. Renaissance/Age of Discovery figures really fit the FGA feel.

We piggy backed our game on great terrain from a Congo campaign that was being run in the club.

We are working on putting together packs for FGA crews.  We’ll also roll out specific packs that can be used for Frostgrave and Rangers from our Fantasy line.

We played another 4 player Ghost Archipeligo game starting the campaign in the rule book - the X Marks the Spot scenario.

In a crazy 5 hour game (picture on the left) only 2 of us got off the table with any of our crew left. Brian, tied up with ghouls and monsters, took his treasures and got off the table. Joel and Wally battled it out for the central treasure (The orange bead of wonder) while my guys with low initiative rolls watched from the sidelines. Back and forth it went. Ensnarement spells exchanged with lightening bolts. Eventually I jumped back in and nabbed the treasure but not before Wally rolled 3 natural 20s to even things up before my numbers told. A fantastic start to the formal campaign.

For future games we are going to reduce the crew from 10 to 4 to see if we can trim the time on the games a bit.

Scenario 6: The Eritherean Graveyard. We started this scenario in our second official campaign game.

We used reduced crews of 6 (what a small boat can carry) as recommended in a previous post for 4 players - heritor, warden, 2 specialists and 2 crew. Joel painted some awesome Eritherean figures for the game (Reaper.)

We are 5 treasurers into the scenario, but there are so many monsters on the table, we may all have to just fight our way off. To be continued ….

We finished Scenario 6: The Eritherean Graveyard last week.  It was a table filled with beasts and monsters that wanted a piece of our crews.  I’m calling it goat island due to the large number of angry mountain goats.  Brian’s warden, a beast master, filled the table with friendly beasts which he used to take on a good portion of the monsters that came on the table.  A good number ran off the board, while Joel’s heritor and crew handled 2 tough Erithereans but not without Joel needed some healing spells from his Warden.  We all ended up with an Eritherean tusk from the grave yard.
