The mounted crossbow are extremely nice (and useful) and I'm looking forward to some arriving in the post soon.

The speed that the twins produce great looking stuff is always worrying  :) I'll be picking up the carroccio too just because it will be a great centre piece to an Italian army.

Very true.

But the Perry model still looks too good for us to be bothered by such trifles as reality  :D

For once and in honour of such a beautifull model, I will bend history!  :)

I think they look very nice. I might buy some of those in the future.

Just received my Italian castings this morning. Very lovely figures.
I'd not realised that the shields are separate castings...this makes the figures even more useful as sword armed late medievals (beyond the boundaries of Italy) - am now thinking of some potential easy-to-do conversions.  :)

The models are all painted in the website by this Steve May guy that put up a nice diorama with the carroccio! Do you know if he has a blog or something where we could see more pictures?

Sirolf,
Steve May does indeed have a blog, which has many of the Perry figs he's painted, plus some of his photography and artwork. Steve used to own Immortal Miniatures (sold to Warlord Games).

Try here: http://age-of-discovery.blogspot.co.uk/

Enjoy,
Simon.

Thank you Simon. And btw, I can't wait to see what you do with these. As you know, Charles loved italians..

Just seen the latest PM advert (in Miniature Wargames mag) and there are some more Italian codes coming very soon - not sure if these are to 'round off' the Italian specific troops for the EA range?

Form memory the new packs are:
- seperate Italian style heads (for the plastic Mercenaries)
- round and oval shields
- mounted stradiots (!!) - a command pack and a lance-armed pack.

Am sure there willbe specific troops that maybe required, but seems to me that Michael's done a great line of region-specific figures...hope he does the same for Swiss.

All great stuff.
Simon.

Looks like my Battle of Fornovo demo game is going to go ahead without too much conversion work!

Saw the advert myself and got me wondering.  :D

Looking forward to see what the Bros have done with the stradiots, should be good.
