The dust warfare russian sniper suits have a really nice MaK look.

And they can be had absolutely dirt cheap in many places...probably the route I'd go.

Miniature Market has a character version of one of those available in stock at a discounted rate.

Well, that sold out quickly...

All gone... :(
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

No promises here but I might have a few of those UNA battlesuits stashed somewhere if you're still looking.

I really have no idea what I'm doing.

Yes, actually.

I think there were a few types of them, right?  Which do you have available?

Thanks heaps, by the way.

Afraid I have to disappoint, all I found were 4(!) sets of Lieutenant G. Epstone aka:

She'd probably take some extensive work to turn into a closed version.  :?

Shouldn't be too hard, if they're anything in construction like the Firetoads. Only after converting and painting a first of those did I find out that each and every one of them has a fully detailed interior and functioning hinged hatches, even though they're all closed up and glued shut!

Only on the special character one were the hatches opened and a pilot figure installed.

So if these were made along the same design and production philosophy, the pilot should be removable and the hatch should close without issue, turning it into a rank and file machine, as the sculpt and cast should be the same...

But if that is for some reason not acceptable, I will gladly take those four off your hands... ;)

Yep, that was a bit of a surprise back in the day. The battlesuits may not have that (I don't know if anyone actually has checked) but the suit pictured does look like the "lid" should fit the gaps so it's might just a matter of detaching that, removing any undesired parts of the well-endowed lieutenant and gluing it in place again in a closed position.

Hmmm...not as easy as you might think. The Toad is plastic and is designed like a kit so it is relatively simple to prise apart and rebuild (I've got a few photos of one 'I did earlier'- I'll see if I can find them).
The Epstone suit is vinyl and the lady herself is not a separate item so she would need to be removed with a dremel. Again I have one 'I made earlier' but didn't finish. I will dig it out and check the hatches for you some time today.

Vinyl you say?  :?

Now that I think about it, it's not as big a surprise as it should be; I have quite a few AT-43 infantry models (but sadly none of these suits) and they're all of a hard vinyl, as you mention.

I had just thought that, because it's a larger, tech-isch model, it would have been plastic too...

Dwartist's got the right of it, had a closer look and the hatch here is static so you'd need to break it off to close it and while you were at that,
you'd also need to cut off the good lieutenant's head and the front armour bits to actually fit it down, and to top all that off you'd likely need to
use greenstuff to sculpt armour in potential seams.

...well it can be done but the fit is poor - it would need a lot of work I think

The Tac Arm pictured has had the whole figure removed but I think you could get away with just removing the head. I removed the pilot so i could convert it to an open suit but never got any further than this...

  • Elaborate! Elucidate! Evaluate!
Since this thread is moving away from the Defiance Games Topic (and on a constructive tangent, which is a nice Change of pace! ;)), I thought it best to split it out into a separate topic.

Carry on, suitors, suites, suits and suitcases.
