*****COMMONWEALTH SECURITY REPORT: 347199*****
*****NOTE: THIS REPORT HAS BEEN DECLASSIFIED FOR MILITARY PERSONNEL CITIZEN GRADE 5 AND ABOVE ONLY. UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS OF THIS DOCUMENT WILL RESULT IN SUSPENSION OF CITIZEN STATUS & COURT-MARTIAL*****

Man-kind has speculated on the existence of a multi-verse since around the 20th & 21st centuries. Parallel realities and alternative dimensions have existed in popular fiction at approximately the same time. Sadly for much of our history rarely has the question of these 'realms beside our own' ever moved beyond speculation and fiction purely because there was believed to be no way of measuring or perceiving anything beyond our own Universe.

That was until the 32nd century, when a research station located on the then fringes of Human space detected a bizarre "signal" or "current" that was believed to be older than our own Universe. Simply put (and it is encouraged if you can to attempt to read the report, copies have been transferred to our data-libraries courtesy of the Nayaritian Republic) the signal is believed to be the remnant of another big bang, but from another Universe trillions of years old and quite possibly one no longer capable of sustaining life, having long suffered it's heat-death.

This report is not to disclose what has occured since. The formation of a Sphere wide research group, or it's persistence since the Federations collapse is covered elsewhere. More to the point this report and all follow up attachments cover encounters with beings and world's that exist well beyond the bounds of our Universe. Since the Tyumen incident it is believed that extra-universal entities of immense power have become increasingly interested in our universe, or maybe our portion of it. That said it is impossible to know when or how they arrive or exactly whether sightings of strange creatures on our worlds are aliens 'native' to our space or something else. Later additions to this report will also include our own species interactions with other Universes, including but not limited to the discovery of 'alternate' realities.

ENTRY 1 - The Shiuth.

The Shiuth are one of the few confirmed extra-universal species. Better yet we know more about them than even the majority of alien species present in our region of the Milky-Way.
The Shiuth are gelatinous like beings, some have described them as being similar to snails, but this description isn't quite right. They appear more like an Earthen sea anemone with a single eye. are not classed as hostile, although their observed abilities and powers are considerable: they communicate from what we believe would be classified as "psychic transmission" something not widely encountered yet in our own galaxy. The tentacle like oozes emerging from the top are limbs and it has been observed that they can extend some 200 metres with lightning speed.
Our knowledge of the Shiuth is derived from direct contact, the first encounter being on Tyumens World three years after the incident that occurred at the research station there. The Shiuth are surprisingly open to providing knowledge of the Multiverse and are eager to collect information on virtually everything. One Shiuth is noted for having psychically interrogated a researcher from the Amthule system about the dining etiquette of each of the planets 17 tribes. However all interactions we have had have failed to translate into better technology and we believe they're purposefully withholding knowledge that could better our species position. When finally queried why, the Shiuth have informed us it is to ensure we progress 'naturally' but also to protect us. From what they've not said.

Culturally speaking the Shiuth are averse to engaging in warfare and are utterly nomadic. They explore the cosmos in vast shapeless vessels (never encountered), constantly flicking through realities and universes like a person might switch entertainment providers on a holo-drive. Shiuths are apparently immortal although they can "die" under certain conditions (never specified). Due to such long-life they rarely breed and have instead used their capacity to shift universes to find others  elsewhere and recruit them. The Shiuths claim to be one of the few constants in the multiverse: all Shiuths are of the same temperament, albeit not always at the same level technologically regardless of what reality they're in. All advanced Shiuth civilization united into a single entity well before our universe came into existence, meanwhile all lesser Shiuth civilizations are sought out and uplifted when required.

Great work, Brummie. I love the Shiuth story. You did a suitable job of making them both relatable, yet not well understood and a bit mysterious.

It’s gonna require a lot more than that pea-shooter to take one of those down.

What if they are full of gas? A sharp drawing pin would do.

That wouldn’t be good, specially if you’re close by.

I like the way that the Shiuth are not simply hostile aliens bent on humanity's destruction, but have a more complex (if not fully understood) set of aims and attitudes to humans. I for one am hopeful that peaceful co-existence may continue. A civilisation that has developed technology more advanced than ours with the ability to carry out psychic interrogation and jump between realities would be a dangerous enemy, however averse to war they are. Let's just sit down together and discuss dining etiquette.

Re: Brummies 15mm Sci Fi - Beings Beyond - Herald of Yn'gith
« Reply #141 on: July 09, 2020, 08:04:39 PM »
Cheers all! The idea is to have a few 'bizarre' aliens that could be good as objectives or RPG games.

Heralds of Yn'gith.

The looming horror now known as a Herald of Yn'gith has only recently been confirmed to have originated outside the Milky Way. Some evidence even suggests the Yn'gith originate from outside our own Universe, albeit they migrated here shortly after its creation. Very little is known about the Yn'gith; what is known has been pieced together from a range of sources, key amongst them are friendly alien civilisations such as the Shiuth and the Vekkian Trade Empire and archaeological digs on the planet C-703. The latter was a world which hosted a sentient alien species which was wiped out some three centuries ago whilst seemingly at the height of their Bronze age. All remaining knowledge regarding the Yn'gith are survivor testimonies dating back some six centuries, just after Humans developed reliable jump drives. However some scholars and intelligence agencies believe the Yn'gith have been in contact with humanity sporadically since at least 2400BC.

The actual aims and objectives of the Yn'gith are utterly unknown to us. Interestingly other Alien civilisations such as the Zorgane accordingly know a great deal and are inherently hostile to the Yn'gith as a result. Unfortunately the long running hostility between Humans and Zorgane have prevented anyone from accessing this knowledge. It was the Shiuth who informed us of the Yn'giths possible origins but they too have admitted almost total ignorance about the species and what drives them, only that they go to extreme lengths (even genocide) to hide their true purpose.

Human contact with the Yn'gith has largely been limited to those nicknamed as 'Heralds'. The name arose from the fact that cataclysmic events often occur shortly after their appearance. Everything from sudden tectonic shifts (planetwide volcanic activity or earthquakes) rapid changes to a planets atmosphere (or loss of it), pandemics with no clear origin and visible mutations of local flora and fauna are some of an inexhaustible list of side effects caused by a Herald. On very rare occasions Heralds are accompanied by other beings that act as subordinates. All such beings usually have some passing resemblance to the Herald but this isn't always the case. Unfortunately when and where Heralds will appear cannot be predicted. Most Herald survivors have been from back water or undeveloped frontier worlds, most of which lack any conceivable strategic or mineral value to Humans.

Nevertheless Heralds are becoming an increasing danger to human worlds. Reports of battles with unknown entities following the appearance of a winged alien on the populated planet of Parisse has the hallmarks of a Yn'gith herald.

It is the belief of almost all human nations that a large scale armed confrontation with the Yn'gith is very likely.

Thanks!

I think they're currently in 'new releases' even though the range was also once apart of the 15mm Asgard range.

A small update; another Unit for my Vornids (still haven't figured a name yet for these guys). Humanoid plantoids! The Vornids first cultivated these creatures as a way of attempting to ease contact with Human colonies. The hope was a creature that bore familiarities with Humans might make communication easier. However quite the opposite effect was achieved and most 'Ambassadors' were blown to bits. The Vornid came to the conclusion that these constructs were a poor choice for furthering diplomacy and were instead redeployed in either hordes or kill teams to target and terrorise Human forces or populations well behind the frontline.

CP do make some unusual figures that are worth picking up  :D

Quick post today, loads of Alien critters I've finished for planetary exploration or frontier encounters!

In order of appearance, models are from Ainsty Castings, The Scene, Loud Ninja (Sold by Alternative Armies) CP Models and finally The Scene.

Thanks for sharing your photos, especially with a GZG astronaut for scale.  That really helps.

Those little barnacle-creatures are very interesting, and unique.  I like them.  Their clipper-like mandibles look like they could do some major damage.

The "Space Fleas" and the "Red Worms" are interesting too.

The former are a bit scarier, and interesting as well.

The worms are rather cute, and might lull explorers into a false sense of safety, before they strike.

Nice work mate... some quite disturbing aliens....which is a good thing as it means they don’t look like aliens from the original Star Trek (ie people in suits)
