The Yellow & Blues have (so far) 5 knights and 3 serjeants, each of which needs a mounted alternate. As I’ve assembled the foot serjeants from Crusader Minis ‘knight’ bodies but with open helms, the mounted alternates received the same approach. I used the Crusader minis ‘serjeant’ horses, without the caparisons (thanks North Star, for the special order!).









Quite a few headswaps, arm repositionings and saddle rebuilds were necessary. The knights’ lances are from Perry WotR.

After I’ve painted these I’ll assemble a similar set for the Red & Greens.

Nice work Steve. Always good to have mounted and foot versions of knights.
Although you could be wasting your time... Mine always end up on foot almost straightaway in every game, as they get pulled or shot off their chargers...

I’ll probably start painting later in the week. At the moment I’ve managed to distract myself with assembling some Arthurians and the rather wild notion  of building Arbeia (at South Shields) though I came back to earth with a bump and decided on Othona in Essex instead (though I have the castle to finish first).

Too true. I ‘need’ the horses for the bigger rules test I have planned but so much work in anticipation of the knights becoming dismounted! Oh well, they’ll look pretty lined up at the start! 😁

It’s one of a number that I’m working on at the same time. Coincidentally, I’ve just finished painting 7 more mounted figures, which hopefully l’ll post images of tonight. In the meantime here’s a taster:
