aye, I think looking back on older dark eldar models any problems to fragile figures can be solved with chains and amounts of hair that will make even a 80's glam rock band blush. Which honestly is not bad idea at all, especially for 6mm where it will help the unit stand out on at tabletop level.

Heck yes!  \m/

I still have an ongoing project doing an army of the original 3rd ed Dark Eldar and big hair is a main feature for sure.

Also; I've been wanting to paint up all my 40K armies in an Epic equivalent for the longest time, so your throwback to that look would suit my ambitions remarkably well  :D

Taking heavy inspiration from the 3e versions, here is my second sculpt/pose done

Edit:
I say second, what about the first? Hadn't posted that here yet either.

its 2023 and high time to finish up my raider and ravaged sculpts!

I've got 3 hulls, 4 sails, 6 drivers 6 bow gunners and need to finisish up 5-6 side gunners. Also have 3 types of bases in 3 heights and angles each. No wonder this took ages XD

Thats the plan! I've been seeing a uptick in epic games played, but not a hint of dark eldar, I'm hoping to singlehandedly fix that  ;D

I play kind of big skirmish in 6mm - multitasking but only 5-10 units per side and I’ve always wanted Dark Eldar to come and raid a hastily reinforced imperial garrison :)

I know the topic is called obsession, but apparently, that just means I have a big week of inspiration once a year with these things.

Necrons have been finished for ages, the GW mars earth effect paint contrasts nicely with the blue. I'm hoping for a sunny day so I can take some good pictures.

Meanwhile, I've finally had some progress on the dark eldar as well. Adding what I think would be the next "priority" in units, the Incubi guards that come with your big bad archon leader.

As before I've been trying to mix old and new inspiration here. The masks of the old ones, horns of the new. The armor is mostly new style but the oversized shoulder pads of the old ones, since that reads nicely at this tiny 6mm scale.

I am beginning to find that I absolutely dread painting these little creeps though. Not just these incubi but all of them, if I get to the point where I have something of a full epic Armageddon army in files I should probably see about commissioning somebody to paint an army for me cause not having the army I sculpted myself is kind of sad.

Oh right and I started painting a space wolf army, and doing some quick mods on figures for that. When I say started that was before legions imperialis was even announced, so you know "recently"
