Vehicles of Obsession.
« on: May 05, 2014, 08:50:54 PM »
I did find some rare time (and energy) to do a little bit on my old west town. NickNascati was it who gave me the idea to name it Obsession, currently floating around as I haven't really settled on a state to put it in (probably Colorado or Wyoming, but also leaning towards New Mexico...)

Anyhow, I have two 4Ground wagons and Sarissa's stagecoach, awaiting Warbases hearse and I did see someone mentioning that they only had inked their wagons and I decided to give that a go. I used undiluted Vallejo Ink and just painted them with it. Messed up a little on the stagecoach luggage compartment but it only shows on the top and on the side, so it's the "good side" in view, and put my very basic mix of grass and earth flock on the bases. You can see my "modular" horses (put down with powertack so they can be removed and applied as individual steeds if need be). In lieu of drivers I used some Foundry/ Black Scorpion mounted miniatures.

Nice inking work on those wagons, Legionnaire.
They have come out well.

That stagecoach does look like it is being driven more than a little recklessly, though....

What can I say? Old Gideon also double as the town drunk, sometimes he can't decide which job he is on that day. The Obsession stagecoach is one of the most dangerous and unpredictable things around... (yes, I'm not too keen on the card bits)

The simple wash works wonders! and gets the wagons fielded sooner as a bonus!

cheers

Got it in one!!! I do like the MDF kits as they are, but it looks nicer with painted stuff. However, with very little time to do so, it's nice to find a quick and simple way of doing it and still leave some valuable time to play a game or two  :D.

AND I'm itching to use it in a scenario derived from a certain scene in a certain movie  ;).

I need to get some proper wagons sorted out...with passengers/drivers and such.  Been way too lazy lately.

It wouldn't be a scene shot in negative and creepily sped up?

I sure hope the cemetery is downhill from the undertakers place because that broken down, undersized nag isn't likely to pull that hearse replete with a 'passenger' and 'accommodations' up anything as steep as an anthill.  Well, at least we know why he's an undertaker and not a horse trader!   lol
