And now, the figures - or some of them - have made it to the painting table, 194 pieces including horses and machine guns along with the men.  Starting with the presidential guard forces, foot, band, and ceremonial mounted unit.

Also pulled out eight 'new' figures to prep for the collection to represent the executives of the banana and coffee companies, Carmina Burana Miranda Bananas and Jitterbug Java.  Oh, and their wives end/or 'squeezes'.

Okay, getting back on track after a brief sojourn in my personal piratical world.  Need to get back to painting but first, a few episodic titles to entice you into the future, and first up where it all started:

The Great and Terrible Schlong of Kong Disaster
Terror at the Black Lagoons
Jungle Rituals Gone Awry
Beware Angry Xitomatl
Reanimation Institute Fugitives
Row for Your Lives - That’s Not a Fish!
Moai Aren’t Supposed to Glow
Purple Dolphins Don’t Goose Step
Kongorillian Showdown
Barnum’s Balloon’s Far Away Journey
Wing Walkers Flying Circus
Harry’s Bridge “Ninguno Pasará”

And that is just for the Conjuras element.  Have yet to turn my focus to episodes in the African-like desert environments.  Nor into the far reaches of Asian Oceania, think something sort of like Singapore Station - tigers, elephants, and really big snakes, oh, my!

The first batch of figures are painted and table ready for the pulp games, El Presidente's Ceremonial Guard which is comprised of a 13 figure band on foot, an armed guard of 12 on foot with the Guard leader on horseback, and the pride of all of Conjuras - the mounted men on the magnificent prancing Paso-dalusians.  There are many things that cause many disagreements in this tiny country spurned by so many cartographers but every man, woman, and child of the country takes fierce pride in the horses of the guard and would have much more than strong words with anyone who cast aspersions on the animals.  And woe to the life of anyone who intentionally harms the wonderful beasts.

A few photos, starting with the band:

The drum shows the Purple Heart of the banana.

And the foot guard

The famed commander's black horse Rapscallion with white mane and tail (tinged blue by the photo bulbs).

It is a wonder to watch these horses start their prancing march and all fall into a perfect uniform leaping gait, as fine a synchronization as you will ever see - and a natural trait of the breed, a cross between the Peruvian Paso and the Andalusian native Lippizaners.

And so it begins.  Much, much more to come.  Been laying in a variety of ship components to work on those tramp steamers - including a third one I plan to add, longer and wider than the other two.

Edt: Band is Red over purple, foot guard is purple over red, and the mounted unit is purple over blue.  Looks like the lighting washed the colors quite a bit but strong purple in person, the red and light blue came through better than the purple which looks too blue.  Paint job is pretty simple, more on the toy like side for these guys.

Well, it is the Banana Wars!  Maybe I need to conjure up a native bear for the country that has naturally yellow fur to hide in and among the ripe bananas!?  lol. Um, maybe not.  A bit TOO far even for me.  ;)

Use a wild boar; the king of nasty critters. It can run, climb, swim, dig, has a thick hide, knives mounted in its face and is a thinking foe. Truly, the king of the monsters.

Inspiration for the third Tramp Steamer which I'm going to build, already pulled aside the board to start.  And she has a name:

La Alborotadora!

Hmm, given what that means, perhaps we should call her a Vamp Steamer!?  lol

Still waiting on one shipment of ship parts - supplier oops being corrected.  Once received, can get going on the ships.

Yellow boars?  Hmm.  Maybe.  Maybe not.

Once encountered five very large wild sows in a wild space walk, gave them a very wide berth.  How large, you ask?  At least a couple hundred pounds a piece.  No way I was going to mess with over a thousand pounds of wild pig, boar or sow!  :o

Just primed 44 pieces of port focused scatter terrain with ten more pieces not needing paint, either painted already or carved stone.

And all the additional figures for the first scenario are ready for painting.

Good progress.

Maybe, maybe not for first scenario but have a line on a 15 mm 3D movie theater for Teatro Marionette, but emblazoned with the 'wrong' name.  TM will be a nick name, then.

Off to deal with that 'annoying' real life stuff for a bit.

The jungle tribe is now painted, presenting the K'aax:

The leader in the center is Yajaw and he is flanked by Ch'i'ik and Yum, his sidekicks.

The Ya'ax warriors.

And the Ya'ax villagers, led by a grey haired old man.

The K'an warriors.

And the K'an villagers, again led by an old man.

Even though there are seven and eight stands for the two villager groups they each represent 12 people, varied numbers of babes in arms or children beside their mothers.

Last image shows the entire tribe as painted.  42 sculpts representing 51 'noses' or people.

Definitely went for a less 'toy-like' look, hopefully achieved.

Names?  From Mayan if I got it right.

A brief foray back into Robin Hood painting for a club game mid-way through August but progress here towards that November game.

Oh, the dilemma!  Gold Rush Bay has released a different jungle cruise building:

Do I buy, or don't I buy?  That is the indigestion.  At least it is USA based so no tariff to worry about if I do.

If I do, would definitely have to rework that modern trash receptacle portion.

N scale (1:160) version shown.  Would need to request being printed at 1:100 scale for 15 mm usage.

I think the main source of indigestion is the budget is undergoing some significant shock waves - maybe even a tsunami warning in order!  But I expect I will cave in and buy eventually.  Between now and then I think I will 'harass' the owner about adding in a variety of Harambe buildings from the Disney World town area.  He does seem to have an affinity for Disney structures.  Might bear fruit so worth the effort.  And for those not familiar, here is a link to a bunch of photos: https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo/harambe-disney.html?sortBy=relevant

Now that would get me even more tempted!   :o

That's a nice building if you go with it. It has a lot of personality but not to cartoonish levels.

I ordered that other jungle cruise building last week so just waiting for it to arrive.

And, now that the first game of Robin Hood is in the rear view mirror, I am back working on the seaport.  Today I assembled - but no coloring or detailing yet - 12 pieces of piers, 4 larger and taller and 8 shorter and narrower in three different lengths.  Below are some photos, one an early in process shot and the others showing the pier in a possible assemblage with ships in process.

All materials either came from going out of business craft store sales (75-90% off!) or for dirt cheap at thrift stores, especially all those rip-off jinga blocks.

Assembled in the manner shown gives me a 9' long port.

Just the same from the other end.  This end has the fishing fleet and I will make one of the buildings a fish cannery.

I very purposefully was not 'careful' in my assembly to try and get a run down look to it all.  There was one pier I do need to trim a piece a bit but otherwise I am happy with it.  Undersides will get paint, top sides to get stained to try and preserve the wood grain.
