Tiger Miniatures' 'German Gun and Crew in Sun Helmet' arrived this morning.
Compared to Copplestone/Foundry the sculpts are less fine, and the poses (particularly the standing officer) just a tad 'off'; however I think that they will take conversion.

They came on little sprues of four knives in my Foundry Azande Warriors packs. The Azande generously donated a few to my cannibals.

Is that before or after they were invited over for dinner?

I had a look on Foundry's website but I couldn't find these on sprues...

Bloody good work on this army, Plynkes. I've looked at it almost every day this week!

No, it doesn't look as if they are available separately. The way Foundry are these days (with their creeping less and lessness in packs) it wouldn't surprise me if they don't even put them in the Azande packs any more.

I had a bit of a crazy fit about Darkest Africa years ago and bought nearly all the deals (bought the Masai one twice!!). It means I have a huge lead mountain of DA, but it also means I have most of the "bonus" one-off figures you can't get any more, and even if I never buy another pack I'll probably have enough stuff to keep me painting until I die. Also back then everything was cheaper, and more guys came in each pack, so I think my folly turned out quite well, all things considered.  :)

I tend to buy the collections, thats the 'orrible collecting habit ive got, but the hordes deals seem to be much better when i got my Azande I reckon there was at least 25% more figures than advertised, including ones not on the website which are presumably the ltd edition ones, however getting a log drum and no drummer is a bummer(ahh ...poetry).
I think the next 20%  sale I might get the Masai horde , I want that bloke on one leg.

When I said "deals" I meant the ones where you get every pack (plus in those days a bonus vignette). I had forgotten about the "hordes." Never bought one of those, as I wanted every figure, rather than a random assortment of figures. They do sound like quite good value though.

I prefer to get the collection deals ,like you, as I want one of each figure, its a bit annoying knowing they have other castings you cant get. I keep meaning to go to one of the Foundry days and see if I can get some of the specials by twisting a few arms when passing my credit card over.In a ideal world I would buy a collection and a horde but probably best to buy the horde first and see what you are missing.

I did phone Foundry earlier in the year, about the possibility of getting hold of some of the old "bonus" DA models, if they still had any knocking about, I was prepared to part with a good bit of cash for each model. Whoever I spoke to told me none were currently avaliable, but they had plans to release them in a blister pack/s some point soon, not sure if he just told me that though to get me off the phone  lol. Anyway I've since picked up a few on Ebay.

I bought one of the Mountain Men sets that I plan to work on next year. The great part is, every time I rustle around the box they came in I find something I can use for other games :D

These look great  :-*

I ordered T&T along with the Colonial War supplement earlier this week and while anxiously waiting for the arrival, I'm enjoying going through old post looking at peoples T&T forces.

When I signed up for "It's Alive" I was hoping it might spur me to get back into painting. But unfortunately that hasn't happened and I don't see that changing. Really starting to feel like I'm out of the hobby for good now, it's got to be four years since I played a game, and last summer was the last time I did any painting (and that only because I was ordered to :)).

So Prof or Jim, it might be a good idea to move this thread back where it came from. Nothing more is going to be forthcoming, I'm afraid.

That's a shame, but never say never, you might get that buzz again someday.   :)
Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.
