Great looking figures.  I really do need to start gaming this particular period... considering I live in Texas and all.

Fantastic! Well worth the wait. Will there be pioneers as well?

Oh yes, wearing forage caps, aprons and carrying axes.... ;) :)

Lovely sculpts.  8)

I agree re the addition of fixed bayonets - especially for the charging chaps.

I've just spent the past weekend reading my LoTW:Alamo, and thinking about what I need for my Mexicans. The main thing I decided (after some Presidial cavaly) was musicans, etc, for the infantry, so I was very pleased to log on today and find these pictures :P
I'm planning an order for a week after Salute so I may have to get another pack or two now, and I no longer have to worry about finding the Artizan figures while at Salute. By the way, do you have any plans for regular cavalry?

I'm not a mercenary. Killing's more of a hobby for me.

Yes. They will come dismounted as well as mounted. They will be in the next but one release. Up next are Cazadores, artillerymen and another pack of officers. :)

This really is a great range of figures! I have been very tempted to start a new period but have always just held off.

The new Mexican infantry are so characterful I am wondering if I could get away with using them as Spanish in the Peninsular War? Perhaps one of the Junta regiments - I could justify buying them then!

With regard to the proposed Cacadores - how do they differ from the line troops appearance wise? is it just their armament or do they have a completely different appearance?

A Baker Rifle instead of a Brown Bess is the broad extent of it as far as I'm aware. Presumably they will be cast in more light infantry-style skirmishy poses.

Oh No! I've not long got my hands on Bowie, Crockett and a few others becouse they were asking to be painted. Now I've seen the new greens it looks like a new period is on the cards just when I promised myself nothing new until I've cleared the painting back log. Still with sculps like these there's no reason not to bend the rules. Great stuff.

As Plynkes said they will  be armed with baker rifles and the appropriate black leather belt and cartridge case, sword bayonet and powder horn. (Think Napoleonic 95th rifles equipment and you can't go wrong.) Although evidence suggests that many of the Cazadores were armed exactly as per the regular soldados with Brown Bess muskets.

As supposedly elite troops they will be better dressed and not wearing sandals. However the basic uniform is the same. The figures will be in a mixture of skirmish poses including an officer, bugler, sargento and sniper. :)

I've tried to ignore this thread as it means I will be bankrupt by the end of the year  :(

Once the annual excess of Triples is out of the way, I'll be able to put an order or two in  :)

I love Matthew's sculpts and it looks like they will be compatible with my existing Artizan infantry figures, even to the extent that they could be mixed in the same units. That doesn't often happen.

Great stuff and I can't wait to see the Cazadores ;D
