An inspired find, I think that grass is spot on, it certainlyl looks the part. Very excited now to see it all coming together, and of course playing the game :D

lol

Needless to say, I did consider it, but decided life is probably just too short for cutting points on hundreds of blades of synthetic grass!

Of course, Peder :)

That rocks! Can you recommend any company names to buy from?

I haven't got the stuff in front of me at the moment, but honestly, just google 'synthetic lawn' or 'imitation grass' and you will find many companies who make and supply it and will send you free samples.

Indeed, Google will carpet you with appropriate links. Waterlessgrass.com and newgrass.com (both in the states) look promising to me. Thanks very much for the useful tip and splendid terrain, CB!

Fantastic!

A thought for mods though - you might not want to include active links from LAF to suppliers - some time ago I belonged to another 'scale model' forum where someone put up a link to free specimens of fake grass and the supplier was inundated with requests but no subsequent orders.  If I remember it right he traced most of the requests for specimens back to the model forum and was none too pleased that they weren't genuine prospective buyers and felt ripped off.  Words were exchanged with the forum owners. :o

My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Actually I was going to ask if any of them ever had remnants to sell.

Great tip, Captain :)
I had the same issue with aquarium plants, and as I buy the cheapest ones, paint doesn't really stick to them at all.

That's very effective, although the landscaper in me has to point out that it's too tall  :D I'd never have mentioned it if you hadn't moaned about the sizes of other products  ;)

Looks great Captain.

One of our local harware shops has a couple of boxes containing small square free samples of the type shown in the close up. Naturally I've picked up a sample from each box, you know, just in case they're different :D

I even had a non-gaming mate bring me around a couple of pieces.

I sourced mine from ebay, a supplier was selling samples as auction lots so I figure that you can buy guilt free!? I typed 'astroturf' into the ebay search and went from there.

Glad to have been able to offer inspiration rather than just steal it!!

M :D
