No time to get anything done last weekend, but this is what i've painted this afternoon (apologies for the yellow glare on the photos):

A pair of Hobbymaster 1/56th Abrams, and a pair of Fenris 1/55th Humvees (have added a gun shield out of plasticard, and a .50cal from my bits box, to the latter)

In both instances i've tried to paint one as a damaged version - still a bit of a WIP, as I haven't decided if I want to add a bit more grime, and I need to do some more work to the wheels and tracks.

 :D


and yes, I know i've just repainted a sandy coloured tank, with sandy coloured paint....

 :lol:

Very nice paint job  :-*.

Lets hope the Abrams driver has a squad covering him if he chooses to go down the road! RPG alley down there!

Nice to see that progress hasn't come to a standstill, its a very awesome looking project.

Though I was playing BFBC2 a mo ago, the new maps they have (the large Map with the wind farm, and the Desert/Urban map beside a large river) look like other cool alternatives actually have a bash on, shame they are just so big though!

As for Modern figs go, I am still holding out for Empress to release their British soldiers in the new Osprey armour, been waiting for some decent Modern British Army figs for years, TAG was just never to my taste.

good to see more work, vehicles look good as does the building
the early bird may get the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese

Its up to players to bring along a squad - you can field a squad of 4 figures, but as there are 4 classes of soldier - Assault, Engineer, Recon and Medic, its possible to turn up with 16 figures (ie 4 of each class) and rotate them for each game.

I will have a few squads done by Salute, but my focus is upon the terrainbuild.

The more the merrier - couple of requests though:

Each figure must be recognisable as one of the 4 classes:

Assault - assault rifle + Grenade Launcher
Engineer - SMG + rocket launcher
Recon - sniper rifle
Medic -LMG


Each figure needs to have a 90 degree arc indicated on the front of the base - either by shading the front quarter of the base, or a couple of red dots - this last is vital for the game, as, amongst other things, it governs whether figures can be despatched swiftly with a knife....  ;)

This week's update:

 :D

Got a bit more done, after getting back from the York show, and having a game, with the mini-Akkies.

The other two concrete shell structures are built, just need to add some steps, and paint them. 




Have a few more rubble templates on the go, as "insurance", to ensure all of the building templates are covered - can build 3 or 4 in the time it takes to make a single storey building.

At least there are a few buildings on table now:



Who knows, I might even get some figures painted.....
