Just out of morbid curiosity, how long does it take everyone on average to put together an entry?  I spend probably 2 -3 hours per figure, plus another hour on the photography, cropping emailing the entry thing.  Overall, on the two I've (almost) completed I'm spending about 10-15 hours each, which would explain why I can't seem to get ahead.  I think I'm a slow painter, but then I got thinking maybe everyone else is really taking this long too.

Normally I take between one and three hours per model. Often I don't get to do the last (fine) details anymore before the deadline and take my picture way to quick. The LPL really forces me tho think about the amount of time I spend in this hobby.

Though while sitting at home all day due to being unemployed should give a lot of time for painting I don't get around to it as much as I did before, when I worked 40 hours in the week... A bit odd actually... ::)
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

Depends a bit of work, the stressier the day, the more I need to unwind, the more time I spent painting.

Thanks for the responses.  Maybe I'm not a slow painter.  Maybe I'm an average speed painter.  I just think of myself as slow because, lets face it, painting minis isn't exactly an instant gratification type hobby.

Anyways, round 2 is in with a whole 6 hours to spare.  I'm torn between starting round 3, or just going to bed...

I nearly missed doing my Round 2 entry, because part of my brain was still running on the old LPL timetable, where I had all day Saturday to get my entry in!

I shot some photos this morning that are OK but by no means great, had planned to reshoot before work tomorrow and edit after work, but now I'll have to get cracking right now because Noon GMT/UTC/Zulu is 0500 here!

 ;D

Well, mine's finally emailed... Took me a while to get decent pictures >:( But all's okay now :)

Already looking forward to tomorrow morning to enjoying a cup of coffee while seeing all the new great entries! Good luck everybody, especially you guys who are finishing their entries at this moment.

Capt and Ray, thanks heaps for all the effort you guys put into organising another LPL. It's a great experience to participate!

Good job Steve! =D I was also a bit on the tardy side, submitting an entry of old miniatures as late as yesterday. I knew I wouldn't be able to finish a new team for rd2, why did I wait so long? =D

I hear that

'Luckily' swine flu has given me plenty of time to get ahead of the game - especially in terms of painting the medieval standards, which I always end up leaving to last because they take so long.

Got some walls to paint first but then its back to the grindstone for Round 3 also!  :D

We're all depressingly healthy here so I'll have to fit work round my painting schedule...  ;)

geeeeee wizz!! Great Entries! Somehow I did not realize how to vote before the second round ... however ... 2round, great stuff and some REALLY tough choices, alter Schwede!! ;)

Once I even had to vote AGAINST dwarves *snif*

But thanx to all members of the 5th season for even being able to view such great pix!
