Midday of painting, and rounds 8 and 9 are done and photographed.  Two more entries to go (well, I actually need to even sort out the movie scene round, but I got all the models scattered over the worktable at least)

5 minis for round 5 finished!  This is the earliest that I've ever been done.  Of course, this week I'm supposed to paint 10...

Still 10 to go :)

somehow the shift of the deadline to saturday didn't really help my productivity. I notice I'm now often enjoying a day of rest on sunday, inst4ead of the frantic painting that it was the last times a participated...

at least most of the models have been sorted...  though round 10 will be a bitch....
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

I finished painting my figures for week 5 but still have to finish the bases, create some sort of display and take pics in the next 3 days.  Nothing concrete planned for week 10 yet but I'll get moving on that later.
Painted:  2025:539; 2024: 410; 2023: 37; 2022: 56

There is always something new to learn about painting. My most recent experience is that painting black skin is as much a dud as painting horses.  :?

My Africa entry is a bit rubbish, if I'm honest, but seeing as I'm now two counties away from the figures, it'll have to do... :?

Round 5 submitted, although this was a hard one.  The minis I had were crappy sculpts for the most part, plus were horrible castings which were beyond my skill to clean.  Add to that trouble getting a picture of all ten at once and a matte coat that killed the highlights on black skin and you have one heap-o'-no-paintin' fun.

On the other hand, it's behind me and I feel like I got over a hump, so hoping the rest of the league will go smoother.  I'm part way through the round 6 minis and  working on round 10 in any free time (like, when I should be sleeping) and I'm somehow now half a week ahead.  Of course, I'm away this weekend, so any buffer I've got will probably disappear after round 6.

Oh well... onward!

Let me know how that works out for you.  And what the secret is.  I think part of my problem is that my painting station is right next to the computer and I enjoy looking at other people's entries more than I enjoy painting my own.   lol

I'm using a pot of Citadel paint that I bought 19 years ago- back when they came in sets with a Golden Demon on the box cover. It's still good, unlike some of my GW paint purchased within the last 6 months!
