OMFG!!!!

So I thought I was behind the 8-ball before...but last night...My 3yo daughter decided to "repaint" 2 of my 5th round entries for me while I was in the shower!!!  In the process she also dumped out 2 bottles of 20 year old OOP Poly-s Paints that are integral to my units paint scheme!!!  So now I'm having to start over again on two figures and figure out some way to duplicate the colors by mixing......its a good thing my wife was there to talk me down...friggin kids...its a good thing she's cute... lol

Wish me luck...its going to be a sprint till Saturday morning...no sleep for me... o_o

Pack your things, little miss. The orphanage is that way.

My niece used to "help" my terrain layouts when I wasn't looking by bringing in stuff from the garden and decorating the table with it. To be honest her 'landscaping' was usually an improvement on my terrain efforts.  :)

 lol

I am a stay at home day since the end of Feb (till the end of October, generous parental leave circumstances in Sweden), so the Katzenhammers have been constant companions around the workbench pretty much all the time. Can O'Beer, the littles hammer, tear everything down which is less than 30cms from the tables edge. Fivers, son of Hammers, is very enthusiastic about every entry and when he escapes my attention he plays house with scenery and miniatures. The fat guy in the asylum is a particular favorite, I've had to do touchup work on him a couple of times.

I think of commando miniature painting, sortof. Toughens you up. I should not complain though. The way things have been going so far, the kids must be bringing me some luck. :)

We have 4 cats running around the house, which thankfully haven't caused any permanent damage yet.  I've had to rebase a couple figs that mysteriously jumped off the table during the night and I've varnished a couple of cat hairs semi-permanently to a couple minis.  The most danger they pose is whenever they drink my paint water my wife threatens to kill me.

Of course, I'm expecting my first in 6 months, so this will all change.

Actually, now that I think about it, the league is good training, since I'm not getting any sleep and I'm stressed out all the time.  :)

My round 5 is painted, just need to base and photograph it and it's ready to be mailed!

Luckely I don't have kids or pets so I won't have any unfortunate "accidents" that can come between now and mailing it in!!!  :D

Sorry to hear about all the unscheduled re-paints and mysteriously flying models, even more respect to the peoples that manage in the LPL and everyday family life at the same time!!!  o_o

Good luck!!!

Mine's been in for a while.  I won't be getting any theme points, but with the past couple weeks I'll take what I can get.

And in one afternoon, I've got from "Oh dog LPL is going to be the death of me..." to actually having backup teams available.

Rounds 5, 6 & 7 all painted & Dullcoted. Photos tomorrow before work, editing & dispatch to the good Captain after work. It helps that they're all related projects!

Rounds 8 & 9 prepped, puttied and based, primer either this evening after work or tomorrow morning. I have a spare in-progress set of figures for one of these rounds, too.

Round 10 now has all ten figures prepped and based. Need to re-watch my chosen movie for scenery inspiration , though.

Organization appears to have happened.  :o

I finished my entry some days ago and sprayed on the matte varnish and took pictures the day before yesterday. Yesterday was spent editing the pictures into an entry and sending it off. Afterwards I noticed some flaws in my picture but I don't have time to fix it so it will have to do 8)

Isn't that always the thing?  ;)

I sent in my entry yesterday, so today's day off will be at least partly spent on my round 6 entry.

Thats my round 5 entry in. :D
But the painting comfort zone I had at the start of the league is now down to 1 day :'(
Don't know if I am going to be able to handle the pace. Round 10 is looming large as well :'(

Round 5 is in!

Managed a new team with an Africa theme but had to sacrifice the 'opponents' bonus-bonus-bonus points as had too little time (but I did sculpt the central character  :D).

Round 6 will be interesting.  Plan to undercoat them tomorrow and start painting Sunday ..... I am away from the PC on Friday/Saturday and so have to have submit by Thursday night .... it's going to be tight!  :o

My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Is the African theme round due tomorrow already? OK. I'll see what I can throw together.  ;)
